Dalt

Daltrey ("Dalt", for short) is Kimberly Bond's Boltund, and her twelfth Pokemon that she acquired on her journey, as well as the seventh that she caught in the Galar region.

Personality

Daltrey- referred to by his nickname "Dalt" by just about everybody save for Ozzy- is more or less like any other real-life dog: naive, hyperactive, and fun-loving in every single regard. He loves to chase balls and sticks, but was introduced as a Wooloo herder in the Turffield Gym during Kim's Gym Challenge. Dalt is very quick to warm up to people and will let them know, in no uncertain terms, just how much he wants to be their friend and partner Pokemon. He loved Kim from literally the first moment he saw her, and made that very clear by following her into the Turffield Stadium and watching her Gym Battle against Milo. Dalt can get very distracted by certain things- he is a dog Pokemon, after all- and loves to play with other Pokemon as though they are his friends. The sole exception is when he is in battle, during which, as a Yamper, he became deadly serious, repeatedly taunting the opponent and knocking them out with extremely powerful Electric-type attacks. Dalt also has a very strong sense of loyalty and refuses to see his friends get hurt in battle, to the point where seeing his partner Kaylan in danger of being knocked out by Nessa's Golisopod made him so scared it was the impetus for his evolution- and Kaylan's own as well. As a Yamper, he talked exclusively through Internet dog lingo or "doge speak"-- broken English, misspelled words, and a repeated use of "heccin" as an intensifier. Once he evolved into a Boltund, his personality didn't really change all that much, but his voice and speech patterns certainly did- he lost the doge speak completely, and his speech instead became similar to that of Dug from the Pixar movie UP. Even after evolution, however, Dalt is still just as loyal, just as hyper, and just as much of Kim's best friend as ever before.

"NEW POKEMON CAUGHT: DALTREY THE YAMPER. VERY HYPER, EXCITEABLE, AND ADORABLE AS ALL HECK. HE LOVES TO PLAY WITH BALLS AND STICKS LIKE MOST OTHER DOG POKEMON. I SHORTENED HIS NAME TO "DALT", AND HE SPEAKS IN INTERNET DOGGY-LINGO. HE IS A VERY VERY GOOD BOY AND I LOVE HIM. I WANT TO PET HIM AND GIVE HIM CUDDLES ALL DAY LONG."

• Dalt was named after Roger Daltrey, lead singer of The Who, as an ode/homage to their song "Dogs".
• Dalt's chat handle, even after evolution, is yampyampdoggo.
• According to Goldenheart388, Dalt's character theme is "Pinball Wizard" by The Who, his Broadway character theme is "Consider Yourself" from Oliver! and his headcanon voice, as a Boltund, is that of Stephen Merchant as Wheatley from Portal 2, with his speech patterns and tics being based on those of Dug, from the Pixar movie UP. As a Yamper, Dalt didn't have a headcanon voice- his translations from Monese appeared above his head in white lettering, similar to the captions used on videos translating the speech of online Internet dogs.
