Personality

Maul's personality is almost impossible to gauge, as he almost never speaks. When he does communicate, it is in cryptic half-sentences or blunt statements. He questions Herbert's decisions at almost every turn, but always follows orders.

Abilities In Battle

Maul shows little variation in his battle tactics, usually attempting to confuse his enemy before bombarding them with multiple Psychic attacks.

History

Maul was hatched by Herbert's father, and given to him as a present on his tenth birthday. He has accompanied Herbert on his adventures across Orre, Kanto, Almia, and Unova, as well as serving as a mainstay of his team during his Sinnoh journeys.

Relationships

Maul has an unusual relationship with Herbert, rarely talking to him and often criticising his decisions when he does. Even so, he never disobeys orders and seems perfectly willing to carry out whatever Herbert orders him to do. Herbert has noted, however, that Maul refuses to eat his dreams whenever he has nightmares.

Maul is shunned by most of Herbert's team, an arrangement he seems to be content with. Only Kirk and Bishop seem to tolerate his company, and even they do so with ill grace. Ripley believes him to be insane and keeps her distance, whilst Leia and Wrex are unnerved by his behavior and avoid him.
