For best results, read this in the voice of Alex Brightman as Dewey Finn from the musical version of School of Rock. Well... either him or Jack Black, they're both fine.

WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY--!

Hey, guys! Wonder why you're all here... oh, I get it. You want to hear a bit of ROCK AND ROLL, don't you? Well, have I got good news for you-- you've found just the Pokemon! Which one do you want? AC/DC? KISS? DIO? That last one's my favorite-- they're who I'm named for, after all-- and--

...what?

...what was that?

...OHHHHHH! They came here to see my page and find out more about me! Yeah, that more makes sense. Okay, then. In that case, I'm Dio. I'm Kimberly Bond's Gliscor, and I'm the third Pokemon that she caught on her adventure. Nice to meet you! You think we can talk about rock music a bit more before we start this thing or-- okay, I get it. You want to learn more about me. Okay, then. Don't worry, though! We can still talk about ROCK AND ROLL later! IT IS AWESOME!

Personality

Alright~! Let's get this show on the road, shall we?

To start off with, I'm probably the most exciteable and emotional member of Kim's entire team. That's saying a lot, considering that she has Dalt, Peechee, and Elton, but Dalt and Elton aren't as LOUD as I am. Yep, if there's one thing I like, it's SCREAMING MY FACE OFF ABOUT HOW AWESOME AND EPIC EVERYTHING IN LIFE IS! If this were Hasslemon or another chat like that, I'd be typing in ALL-CAPS! Of course, I can get a little overexcited at times- though that might be a bit of an understatement- but I just have a huge lust for life and want to make everybody around me as happy as possible! Seriously, making people and Pokemon happy is kind of my whole schtick!

Huh. Maybe I am more like Elton than I thought...

Of course, if there's one thing in life I like as much as making others happy, it's ROCK AND ROLLL, BABY~! It ain't noise pollution, it's a way of life! AC/DC was absolutely right! I listen to so much rock music when I'm in my PokeBall that it's crazy! Seriously, Kim has an Amped Toxtricity named Strummer, and when he was still a Toxel, he performed a cover of "Rock the Casbah" by the Clash-- and you KNOW I had to see it! I was rocking out the entire time! Matter of fact, I'm even in a rock band! It's called New Dawn's Dreamers, and Kim's the lead singer. I play the guitar in it, and when we got to participate in a Battle of the Bands, I was HYPED! And then we found out that our opponent was Kendall's band Shadow Cast I was even MORE HYPED! And then when we performed "Freewill" I was EXTREEEEEEEEMELY HYPED! FREEWILL IS AWESOME! Of course, though, Shadow Cast's performance of "Jambi" was even more awesome. Seriously, Kamui! You have taste! I freaking LOVE Tool!

Surprisingly, though, there is something else I love even more than rock and roll music-- AND THAT'S BATTLING, BABY! I LOVE IT! Not only is it really fun, but it's a way for me to get stronger and prove myself to Kim. It took a long time before I was used in an official battle, though. Before Spikemuth, the closest I had come to it was when I was used in a New Year's Eve battle against Ian, and I relished every minute of it!...except when I lost. Yeah... losing battles feels really rough for me, and you'll see why in a bit. Anyways! When that time did come, and I was finally used in Spikemuth against Marnie, I was absolutely DELIGHTED-! That meant that I could utilize all of the battle strategies I had learned to their full potential, baby! Even better was the fact that I was going up against Marnie's Toxicroak... who was PART POISON-TYPE! And you know what that means... Yep, I got to utilize my Poison Heal ability to its full potential, baby~! It was loads of fun!

Of course, though, even if I'm not battling, cheering on other Pokemon in battle makes me just as happy! Learning new moves for battle makes me just as happy, too-- but I don't like learning them via stuff like TMs or TRs. That would be too easy for me! Instead, I like learning them the old-fashioned way-- through hard work, practice, and determination. That's how I learned Dark Pulse from Pentigan's Zoroark... whose name is some weird symbol I don't know how to read. I think it was "Theta"? Yeah, that was it. Anyways, I really love Theta. He's nice-- and he knows a lot about Dark-type moves! Of course, TMs and TRs aren't the only ways I like learning new moves. I'm okay with learning moves the really old-fashioned way, too- naturally! After all, that's how I learned Earthquake, Stone Edge, Guillotine, and Poison Jab, and all of those moves are great! Learning them helped me a lot in regards to my battling skills!...but I still can't fly very well.

And now... for the not-so-fun stuff.

Now... I have a lot of flaws. I have a bit of a rash streak, and sometimes do things without thinking; and I have a bit of a splotchy memory. I needed a mnemonic to learn how to spell Piku-chan's name... can you imagine that? But the biggest flaw I have... well... I- I don't know if you've noticed it, but... I have a scar going through my right eye. Now, you might think that scar looks really cool, and that's okay! I'll admit scars look cool!... but the story of how I got my scar is far from cool. See, before I met Kim I... I had an old Trainer, and... and he would gaslight me and abuse me for not being able to fly very well. I would constantly lose battles, and every time I did, he would tell me I was worthless and would never be able to do anything well. All this came to a head when he-- e-excuse me, I think I have something in my eye-- he slashed me across the face with a sharp knife, and told me I was insane for thinking that I would ever be a good battler. And... I kind of believed him for a few moments. I still kind of believe him. That's why I don't really take losses very well. I feel like if I lose a battle it just proves that my old Trainer was right about me and that it's my fault for losing. In fact, if I do ever lose a battle... I more often than not go into a funk because of it. It happened after I lost to Ian-- I holed myself up in my PokeBall until Joel coaxed me out-- but it was even worse when I battled against Hoops in Wyndon Stadium.

See, Hoops has this Cofagrigus named Cof, and... I feel so stupid for trusting him. He took away my Poison Heal ability, and then threw me directly in the crossfire of my friends' attacks... and told me that I still had a lot to learn about multibattles. He said something about the "melee", too... I didn't know what he meant by that... but all I heard was the same thing my old Trainer had told me-- "you suck at battling". Seconds later, I found myself against the wall. That loss really hurt-- moreso than the one against Ian, since I felt like I was even more to blame for it. And it had happened right after I had learned Poison Jab, too! I tried so hard to win for Kim... only to lose anyways. It hurt so much that, when Joel and Kaylan decided to talk to me about it, I dropped my typing quirk. I don't remember ever typing not in all-caps... except for right now, of course. And if I'm talking to a stranger, but that hasn't happened yet. Certainly not to my friends, though-- and that shocked Kaylan and Joel to no end. And honestly, I wouldn't blame them. If you see me typing regularly, and the person on the other side is someone I know, something is up. Big time.

Yeah... needless to say, losses really hurt.

BUT! That only makes me more determined to prove my worth to Kim! And someday, I'm going to find that old Trainer of mine and throw a steamroller on top of his head!

Sorry if that bummed you out a bit. It kind of bummed me out a bit, to be honest. Let's get back to the fun stuff before it gets too devastating... *sniff*

ANYWAYS!

I love the idea of really cool new things happening to me and my fellow Pokemon-- such as evolution, Dynamaxing or Gigantamaxing, learning a new move, or turning into a human. In fact, I can turn into a human, and both that and my evolution got me REALLY FREAKING HYPED when I saw what happened to me. Same thing with me finally learning a Ground-type move in the form of Earthquake. Whenever that happens, I'll usually express that excitement with a rousing cry of "WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY--!" Apparently it's a reference to some crazy vampire named Dio Brando who can stop time and drop steamrollers from the sky-- both of which are things I would like to do, one day.

Too bad I probably won't be able to... but at least I can cause an Earthquake!

One more thing: Kim likes making these "personality profiles". Whenever she catches a new Pokemon, she'll write down a summary of their personality. I have one, too-- and it is AWESOME! You want to see it? Here goes!

"NEW POKEMON CAUGHT: DIO THE GLIGAR. SEEMS EXCITEABLE AT FIRST GLANCE, BUT DUE TO HIS PAST IS ACTUALLY QUITE SENSITIVE. ACCORDING TO THE POKEDEX, HE HAS A RASH STREAK. MAKES SENSE, GIVEN WHO HE'S NAMED AFTER. HE DOES NOT FLY VERY WELL AND HAS A SCAR ON HIS RIGHT EYE FROM HIS OLD ABUSIVE TRAINER. HE DOES NOT KNOW ANY DARK-TYPE MOVES. I FIND THIS SOMEWHAT ODD. WONDER IF MAYBE HE WANTS TO LEARN FAINT ATTACK...

"OH, AND I'M PRETTY SURE HE KNOWS ZERO [JAPANESE.] WELL, THEN. I'LL EITHER HAVE TO TEACH HIM WHAT I KNOW OR GET REVER, HIKARI, OR IAN TO TEACH HIM.

"GIVEN HIS SPLOTCHY MEMORY HE'LL NEED A MNEMONIC FOR PARTICLES... I DON'T KNOW IF ANY OF THOSE EXIST.

"NO, HE CAN'T DROP STEAMROLLERS FROM THE SKY OR FREEZE TIME. YET."

Well, I know a Dark-type move now! Thanks, Theta~!

Details

  • Met: Kim met me on Route 35 in Johto, near Goldenrod City. It's the same place where she caught Sinatra.
  • Ability: Poison Heal-- meaning that if I get poisoned, it doesn't deplete my HP! It HEALS it! If Joel uses Toxic on me, it'll be a benefit! I THRIVE ON POISON, BABY! Heck, Poison's the name of a rock band! NO WONDER I LOVE GETTING POISONED SO MUCH!
  • Held Item: I used to have a Razor Fang-- and then I evolved. Now I don't hold any items.
  • Favorite Move: DARK PULSE, BABY~! First move I ever learned, and it is freaking AWESOME!
  • Nature: Rash. Yep, seems pretty accurate. I'm loud, exciteable, and often do things without thinking first.
  • Characteristic: Likes to thrash about? AWWWWWWWWWWW YEAH I DO, BABY~! ROCK AND ROLLLLLLLLL-!! WHOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOO!
  • Ball: Just a standard Poke Ball, nothing really special.
  • Evolves in: So Kim kiiiiiiinda snuck a Razor Fang into my sleeping bag when my fellow Pokemon and I were camping out in the Wild Area. I'm not going to fault her, though, because when I woke up, I was a Gliscor! And it was SWEET!
  • Hasslemon typing quirk: ALL CAPS, BABAAAYYYY!!! I'VE HAD THIS QUIRK SINCE THE VERY BEGINNING, EVEN BEFORE I GOT HASSLEMON, AND IT WASN'T EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE A QUIRK IN THE FIRST PLACE! I JUST ENDED UP LIKING HOW IT LOOKED, ESPECIALLY SINCE I'M ALWAYS SO LOUD. DON'T WORRY, THOUGH, I CAN TURN IT OFF WHENEVER NECESSARY... BUT I USUALLY DO IT WHENEVER I'M SAD. OH! AND IF I GET REALLY EXCITED, I USE MULTIPLE EXCLAMATION POINTS! LIKE THIS!!!!

Trivia

Alright~! Time for a few more things you didn't know about yours truly!

  • As you might have guessed, I'm named after none other than DIO, baby! Well, actually, I'm named after two Dios. The first is that crazy vampire named Dio Brando who can drop steamrollers from the sky and freeze time, which makes sense, since I am a vampire bat Pokemon. But the second Dio? GOOD OL' RONNIE JAMES, BABAYYYY! May he rest in peace forever! Best rock artist of all time in my personal opinion. Plus, my fun-loving boisterousness is pretty much exactly the same as what Dio had.
  • Like I said before, I got turned into a human for the Battle of the Bands and it was HYYYYYYYYYPE! In that form, I'm not called Dio-- I'm called Ronnie James Brando! ...which is basically the same thing because that name's a combination of the names of both of the Dios. Honestly, it's pretty unoriginal... but that doesn't make it any less EPIC!
  • I have two handles. The first one is the one I use for any chat that's not Hasslemon-- that's just RonnieJamesBrando, and you already know where that comes from. The second, meanwhile... well... you mind if I sing it? holyGlider (HG)/You've been down too long in the midnight sea... YEP! IT'S A DIO REFERENCE, BABY! And it's not just that; it's a pun! I'm a Gliscor, after all- gliding's what we do!
  • And now, for the REALLY AWESOME part-- ROCK AND ROLL! Specifically, my two character themes, which are both rock songs. My regular character theme is "Rainbow in the Dark" by Dio, which is really fitting-- I mean, have you read the lyrics? "Do your demons/do they ever let you go?" Nope! They still haven't! That song is literally about my old Trainer and my self-esteem issues, disguised with the most EPIC-SOUNDING ROCK RIFFS YOU'VE EVER HEARD-- and I kind of mask my self-esteem issues with happiness. My Broadway character theme, though... HOO-BOY, that's even more explicit with what it's about. It's called "Good Kid", it's from this musical called The Lightning Thief, and it's all about this kid who wants to prove himself because he's been kicked out of six schools in six years. Course, I can't really relate to that, but I can ABSOLUTELY relate to trying to prove myself-- I do the best I can to make Kim proud of me every single day! And don't you forget it!

So... is that it?

Holy crap, I guess that's it! Alright, then! Thanks for coming to my page! It sure was a blast talking to ya! Hopefully, I'll see you again one day to talk some more!

Bye--!

KEEP LISTENING TO ROCK AND ROLL~!!
