Lila (Poppy)

Lila is Poppy's Floragato, and the first she acquired during the Paldea Arc.

Backstory

Lila, when she hatched, lived a life on the streets, stealing to survive. During this time she would watch films from people's windows, and one person she liked stealing food from always put on heist movies, which sparked her passion for theft. Eventually she got caught and placed in a shelter, but an Academy staff member who discovered her decided that she should be given a second chance by being with a Trainer, and so had her on availability as a Starter. Eventually, Lila ended up going to Poppy.

Personality

Lila is one of Poppy's most cunning Pokèmon by a mile. She sees the rules as things that were meant to be broken, which lands her in hot water many times. In battle, she's just as cunning, with her variety of move types and ability Protean. She dreams of fully evolving and becoming a Meowscarada, as she sees it as "unlocking her true potential".

Battle Strategy

Lila is notorious for her unpredictability in battle. She has her hidden ability Protean, which means she can switch types to whatever move she just used. And with her being able to turn into a Grass, Dark, Fairy or Ghost type, she is one tricky Pokèmon to face.

Relationships

• Poppy: Lila seems very grateful to Poppy for consistently supplying food for her. She seems to view her as a saviour.
• Donut: After she apologised to him for making him feel left out, the two have started an unlikely friendship.
• Shroomy: Lila isn't very impressed by how Shroomy tries to parent her. She thinks she can do just fine without him.
• Sunrise: Lila seems happy with Sunrise keeping an eye on her as it means she has a friend. Even if Sunrise gets dragged along with her some of the time.
• Crusher: Lila thinks Crusher wouldn't understand or not want to be dragged along for her heists, so she leaves him alone.
• Nessa: Lila sees potential in Nessa as a getaway Pokemon, but not much else.
• Stormwind: Lila seems almost inspired by Stormwind's enormous ego.

• Lila's name was partially inspired by the character of Lila Rossi from Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir.
• Lila shares her birthday, October 1st, with Bonnie Elizabeth Parker, a notorious American criminal alongside her partner Clyde Chestnut "Champion" Barrow.
• As jointly decided on by ThunderKitty and Goldenheart388, Lila’s character theme is “Last Surprise” by Lyn, as featured on the soundtrack to Persona 5. Besides the song being from one of Lila’s canonical favorite game series of all time, the song lyrically deals with Lila’s mischievous delinquent-sequences tendencies and her passion towards deception and thievery.
