Synchronates are a family of minerals and crystals that significantly interact with Aura, through the form of Infinity Energy or the Aura Spectrum.

Luminite

Luminite is the purest form of synchronate, which forms as around sites of heavy Aura use as a by-product. Luminite can contain and store Aura, and can also be used as a conduit for the Aura Spectrum. Pure Luminite crystallizes with a hexagonal crystal habit, similar to quartz, has a faint sea-green hue, and exhibits photoluminescence when Aura is contained within it, which slowly decays in isolation. Impurities in Luminite alter its color, and can potentially cause it to interact with individual move types in particular; this phenomenon is particularly common in Unova, where type-boosting Gems appear with exceptional frequency. Additionally, Aura surges caused by particularly strong negative emotions (such as the corrupt Aura exhibited by Shadow Pokemon) can cause Luminite to take on a dark purple hue and radiate ultraviolet light instead of the typical sea-green.

The Luminous Crystal atop the Tower of Peace (also known as Altru Tower) in Almia is a particularly massive piece of Luminite, and the source of "Luminite" as a name. The cores of numerous inorganic Pokemon, particularly Rock and Ice types, contain significant amounts of Luminite -- however, Regicite is an unrelated mineral that exists in tandem with Luminite in these Pokemon. Other phenomena of inorganic sentience (e.g. the Bittercold) may also involve Luminite.

Umbrate is a fiber that contains Luminite, generated from Spectral or Obscuric abilities. The bodies of Ghost Pokemon, as well as solidified Spectral and Obscuric illusions, are comprised primarily of Umbrate.

Sync Stones

Sync Stones are a broad subcategory of synchronates, referring to those that interact with the Aura bond between two entities. The term is a common umbrella term that includes Mega Stones, Synergy Stones, Necrozite, Wishing Stars, and Burst Hearts.

Necrozite comprises Z-Crystals and the body of Necrozma, and crystallizes with an octahedral crystal habit similar to diamond.

Mega Stones and Synergy Stones may possibly be similar or even the same crystal, due to similar effects. Uncut Mega Stones resemble the Synergy Stone piece seen embedded in the shoulder of Shadow Mewtwo from the Ferrum region, both having a wedge-like crystal habit and exhibiting chatoyancy (cat's-eye effect).

Burst Hearts form in doubly-terminated hexagonal crystals. Wishing Stars form with radial, pentagonal crystal growths.

The crystal component of handcrafted Poke Balls may also be a form of Sync Stone. A handmade Hisuian Poke Ball partially absorbed the energy from the Luminous Crystal, resulting in the creation of a Hisuian Voltorb partnered with Cyrus Javed.
