History

Prior to being given to Evelyn, Ritchie was one of the three starter Pokémon owned by Professor Rowan in his lab at the time-- the other two were the 'mons that would later be named Kaylan and Hanuman. When Ian, Evelyn and Kimberly Bond first met Ritchie, he was running around the lab, on fire while Hanuman was embroiled in a fight with Kaylan because the Tiny Leaf Pokémon bit his tail and ended up burning their mouth. Ritchie tried to quell the fighting, but was set on fire by Hanuman as a result. It took Evelyn and Mirai intervening to bring Hanuman to the point of reasoning and Ian and Oshawittle to put out the flames. After the fight between Kaylan and Hanuman was settled, Professor Rowan let Ian, Evelyn and Kim have their choice of the Starter Trio. Ian chose Ritchie as his Sinnoh Starter.
