Contents
Appearance
Siobhán is a slightly tall woman, with a lanky, angular but relatively toned build. She has an androgynous face with freckles. Her hair is black and messy, stopping shortly below her shoulders and usually tied in a bun with loose bangs, and she has stormy blue-grey eyes. Her skin is very pale, barely any tan to it. Her ears are both pierced, usually with silver hoops in; on the right of her back is a tattoo of a Staraptor wing.
Currently, Siobhán wears a low-cut light blue t-shirt, medium-toned blue denim capris (cuffed above her knees), black tights, a pair of sturdy blue-and-black hiking boots, a red bandana tied around her neck, and a pair of blue-framed aviators. Her trenchcoat is woven from Umbrate spun from her own Obscura - dark grey, with a silver trim and lining, blue metallic buttons, a blue belt, and zipper-detachable sleeves. By infusing or draining Obscura from the coat, she can adjust the thickness and length, as well as repair tears rips.
Siobhán has a variety of outfits for other occasions, notably a collection of longcoats, and a formal suit complete with tailcoat and top hat.
Galar
Siobhán wore a violet t-shirt, a pair of torn black denim jeans, a gray trench coat with gold trim and accents, a dark gray scarf, a pair of black hiking boots, a black backpack, black teashades, a pair of black fingerless gloves that go up to the elbow, and a black belt with Poké Ball holders.
Siobhán's Galar League outfit is a replica of Champion Cynthia's signature outfit, minus the headpiece. The back of the coat is emblazoned with a purple "413" and a silver, stitched signature from Cynthia.
Phantom
Siobhán's Aurabolt alter ego. Dressed in gray rags and leather armor, and a gray cloak. Two crossbows mounted on her wrists serve as weapons and foci. Her mask is split into two halves - a black cloth mask with a print of smiling, sharp teeth, and a more hi-tech set of goggles.
Wraith
Siobhán's non-Aurabolt vigilante persona. Wears white leather armor, a white scarf, and a Froslass-inspired cloak. A white cloth-wrapped katana hilt is strapped to her side.
Personality
She is witty, intelligent, and kind, yet also proud, snarky, argumentative and hot-tempered. She hates people who mistreat Pokémon and takes good care of her team. When she fights, she pushes her team to their limits, but makes sure to not overwork them. She's the kind of person who respects others, but lives by her own rules.
History
Pre Debut
Siobhán thought she was just an average kid from Sunyshore, born to an Unovan father and a Sinnohan mother. Raised by them, her parents' Eeveelutions Amethyst and Blue Moon, and her godfather, she lived a happy content life, despite how...eventful Sinnoh could be. She was homeschooled by all of her parents, who taught her many things, including Monese. On her tenth birthday, she began an apprenticeship with Marshall. As much as she enjoyed helping with the breeding and caregiving, she wanted more to her life. On her thirteenth birthday, she decided - that was when she would leave, accompanied by her young starter Tsunami, to become an Ace Trainer and enter the Sinnoh Hall of Fame. She spent roughly four years traveling around Sinnoh, slowly building a team and growing in strength with them, defeating Gym Leaders as they adventured. But when it came time for the final battle against Cynthia, they lost. After spending a few months in their Secret Base and the Underground, Siobhán and her team decided to travel to Alola and challenge the newly-established League, reasoning a new adventure would be just the fresh start they needed.
Alola
In Alola, Siobhán ran the Island Challenge, making new friends and getting caught up in problems beyond their initial scope, from the new threat of Ultra Beasts to a run-in with one of the Shards of Calamity. She became quickly acquainted with the J-Team and the intricacies of their world, eagerly joining as a new member. She proved successful against the Alolan League, ultimately proving her growth in her title match against Marshall.
Entralink
Fresh off the high of winning the Alola League, Siobhán returned to Sinnoh, returning to challenge the Elite Four and winning her rematch against Cynthia. But she had no desire to stay in Sinnoh, nor the opportunity - for the sky was broken, and new foes and adventures awaited in other regions. Siobhán became wrapped up in even more chaos as she assisted in the fight against Team Mobius and their allies.
Notably, she unlocked and began training her Obscuric powers, joined the Aurabolts as the hero Phantom (while also serving as the antihero Wraith), and met her alternate timeline Futurekids Isbrand and Miika.
Galar
In the wake of the defeat of Team Mobius and the Fanatic, Siobhán welcomed the opportunity to explore Galar, and received a sponsorship from Champion Cynthia in order to challenge the Galar League alongside Isbrand. Despite herself, she enjoyed the journey and peace it brought, for a time. The forces of Surtr and the School ensured that she would still have to be on her toes.
Shortly after finishing her time in Galar, having lost to Isbrand in the semi-finals of the League, Siobhán moved to Unova, renting an apartment in Castelia and working as a teacher at a local Trainer School, attempting to seek a relatively calm life for a while. Her attempt was again interrupted, this time by the appearance of her J-Dan counterpart, Orpheus, who attacked her in an attempt to eliminate her as a threat. Despite his best efforts and considerable power thanks to a Type: Null and a Burst Heart, Siobhán defeated him with the assistance of Jessica and Thanatos, Ace's J-Dan counterpart. Due to the physical and mental strain of the fight, she fell into a coma afterwards.
After a few weeks healing at PEFE HQ, Siobhán emerged from her coma. Following more weeks of resting, testing, and physical therapy, she returned to Sinnoh for her traditional pilgrimage, accompanied by Jessica, in an attempt to both mentally heal herself and rehabilitate the Type:Null. Following their visit to Spear Pillar, they disappeared and were assumed missing since.
Paldea Arc
Siobhán appeared from a wormhole in the Stormchaser's Union Room, alongside Jessica and Elizabeth. After some time on bedrest, she began reconnecting with the world and dealing with the fallout of her "adventure".
Other Universes
In the AU
In the AU, Shaun grew up rather differently than his OU counterpart. As a result of DS's failure to calm Giratina, he and his family had to flee Sinnoh, opting to leave for Unova, as his father used to live there. The peace would not last. First, the uprising in Unova and the Scolemis war. While fleeing the region, Shaun became separated from his family, having only his two Pokémon and two of Marshall's with him. Whilst he was on the run, hiding the best he could from Scolemis forces, his mother and her Espeon were killed, and his godfather lost a leg. At some point near the end of the war he found two eggs, which turned out to contain the reincarnated forms of his mother and Amethyst, having won their Spirit Game with assitance. In the short peace afterward, his life obtained some semblance of normalcy - but it was not to be, with the Draconic Uprising. Shaun woke up as a Starly, and destruction and suffering for him would follow once again. His fighting spirit and determination ensured he lived, but not easily. As a result of the two wars, AU!Shaun became much more cynical and jaded, shutting himself in the family home to harbor his resentment for the world. When Team Locke arrived a few years later, he traveled with them - and his worldview changed. He softened, and realized that the world was worth fighting and living for precisely because of everything he had been through.
In PMD-B
Circumstances forced Shaun to adapt quickly to survive, and she eventually thrive in the wilds after the defeat of the Seven Jerk Dragons. Going simply by "S" as a Staraptor, she and the remnants of her team would wander the ruins of Unova, dealing with threats to peace swiftly. Wherever they were, travelers knew the roads would be safe, even if most of them had only heard rumors of the Shadow In The Sky. Eventually the rumor would fade into myth and be forgotten after S finally met a foe too strong for her.
In the Otherverse
Due to the lack of Glitch attacks in Sinnoh, Siobhán would set out for her trainer journey at age 10, somehow ending up with the exact same original team she had in the OU. After winning the Sinnoh League, she decided she preferred training to ranch work, and would later travel to and compete in the Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn Leagues, and eventually became a Frontier Brain at the Sinnoh Battle Frontier.
In the Beastverse/Sapphfuture
Shaun and Jessica married at some point during their adventures, and the two of them eventually settled down on a ranch. They sired two twin children - Kaiiseii and Isbrand - and ensured they lived happy, fulfilling lives, doting on them and providing them with whatever they wanted and needed. In the original Beastverse timeline, Shaun was killed by the Beast alongside the majority of the population. He would die fighting side-by-side with Jessica on their ranch, buying their children time to escape. In the revised timeline of the Sapphfuture, the now-transitioned Siobhán continued to run the family ranch well into old age, enjoying the peace and calm of her life.
In the Danverse
In the J-Dan timeline, Shaun's slightly more ruthless attitude gave him the edge to defeat Cynthia on his first attempt. As a result, he never left for Alola, and remained isolated from other peoplemons. Inspired by J-Dan's "direct" approach to solving problems, he then decided to hunt down Kirai, the poacher responsible for Lightning's disfigurement and Jessica's abandonment. After a savage battle, Kirai and his Pokemon were dead - but so were several of Shaun's Pokemon, including Jessica, who had to be mercy killed due to the extent of her injuries. Unable to bear the guilt and pain of this, Shaun abandoned the surviving Ace and Ruby and departed. Seeking a new life, he sought out and joined J-Dan as an enforcer, developing a particular idolization for Kalter. Quiet and withdrawn, usually whispering to himself, he spent his time developing his Obscuric potential and fighting at their side. Shaun's psyche twisted further, as he began seeing himself as only good at violence, and slowly developed a philosophy based on survival. Still, he did not feel strong enough, and eventually took over a small Pokefutures outpost as his personal base - and its contents as his toys. The cumulative affect of substance abuse, self-loathing, and addiction to the artificial Burst Heart twisted his fragile psyche until it broke. Reinventing himself as "Orpheus", he quickly embraced his destructive nature, taking true pleasure in his "work". Although he plays up his persona somewhat to both keep others away and boost his image, all that remained of his former self was memories, buried regret, and unrelenting determination. He would eventually perish at the hands of Siobhán in the OU - though a body was never found.
Battle Techniques
- When directing Pokémon in battle, focuses on identifying opponents' weaknesses and surprising them with on-the-spot strategies.
- Relies on trust and experience to shout out short, direct commands that hrt team can interpret immediately. With Beowulf's help, can mindmeld the team for greater efficiency, but requires all participants be in sync.
- Trained in unarmed combat, specifically from street fighting.
- An extremely talented archer, capable of hitting difficult shots even while moving.
- Decent enough with a sword or other blade, though it's not her preferred weapon.
- A powerful Obscuric, with a natural affinity for Infusion-based and, to a lesser extent, Construct-based abilities. Her techniques include:
- Aura Infusal. Primarily used to enhance physical strength, stamina, and durability, letting them fight with impunity. Also forms the basis for most technique, including Constructs.
- Witch Walking.
- Auric Constructs. For combat, primarily forms a bow, kunai, or simple long-sword. Has also learned to construct small tools, like a lock-pick set, straight razor, or hair comb.
- Spirit Shackle - Utilizes construct arrows instead of plucked feathers in both human and Pokéform. The chain can also be retracted, pulling her towards it (aka "Hookshot-ing").
- Arrow Raid - a variant of Spirit Shackle. she emulates Decidueye's signature Z-Move by summoning a swarm of spectral arrows and firing them at an enemy. Draining.
- Shadow Claw.
- Spirit Shackle - Utilizes construct arrows instead of plucked feathers in both human and Pokéform. The chain can also be retracted, pulling her towards it (aka "Hookshot-ing").
- Shadow Teleportation. Siobhán's variant is short-ranged, allowing her to only jump into shadows in her sight. Distances up to 1 meter are simple, but larger jumps are draining and usually require help from a Nexus or Ghost-mon possession.
- Overflow, a technique only seen in times of intense stress, usually near-death. Siobhán manifests and a set of shadowy Decidueye wings and a matching beaked hood, gaining a massive increase to her power. However, this draws on her life energy, leaving her intensely weakened from Aura Depletion and minor physical damage caused by the adrenaline surge.
- The Lunar Arts, a set of techniques originally created by her ancestor Cereza during her time as the mercenary Sakura Kunaimi. Siobhán later added some of her own techniques to the list.
- Cicada Within - An instinctive dodge. She dodges out of the way by transforming her body into Obscura in what is essentially a split-second Shadowport. Leaves an illusion of spectral Ninjasks and Shedinjas floating in the air.
- Twinned Souls - Melodramatic name for Siobhán's ability to sync with a Ghost-mon possessing them. Increases the potency of her Obscura as well as her reserves, and can allow her to use some of the Pokémon's moves, such as Ice Beam with Midna.
- Zenith - A weaker form of Overflow, triggered purposefully. Does not drain Life Force, but requires a Nexus or comparable source of external power to activate.
- Aura Infusal. Primarily used to enhance physical strength, stamina, and durability, letting them fight with impunity. Also forms the basis for most technique, including Constructs.
