Strummer

Strummer is Kimberly Bond's Amped Toxtricity, and the eighteenth Pokemon that she caught on her journey, as well as the thirteenth she caught in the Galar region.

Personality

Strummer is, in every sense of the word, a rebel. He is loud, hasty, brash, excitable, and not afraid in the least to speak his mind. Strummer's main enemy- at least in his eyes- is what he refers to as "The Establishment"-- what just about everybody else would call "the man". More specifically, it's corrupt individuals-- evil teams, authoritarian governments, and downright abusive authority figures. As such, Strummer is more knowledgeable about the J-Team than is initially apparent- his first appearance on-screen revealed that he knows about the Fanatic, and he later revealed that he is able to read and reads the newspaper very frequently. Strummer is also, like Dio, a fan of rock and roll music, though true to his nature, he is moreso a fan of rock artists that dared to go against the government- most notably The Clash, the Dead Kennedys, and the Sex Pistols (AKA the Breeding Guns). He's very enthusiastic about the thought of the Establishment being defeated, and tends to celebrate when something is-- upon hearing that the J-Team had defeated the Fanatic, he put on a full-scale performance of The Clash's "Rock the Casbah" and eagerly congratulated Kim and Ian on defeating the Fanatic. He can also be rather impatient at times- when he decided to perform "Rock the Casbah," he ran off, frantically telling Jagger to get out of his way. Later on, during Ian's gym battle at Stow-on-Side, he continued begging for Ian's, Evelyn's, Bea's, and Allister's Pokemon to Gigantamax, as he had never seen one of those before. Once they did, he enthusiastically cheered. From his capture onward, Strummer has had a very close relationship with Jagger. The two of them are often seen doing everything together and talking to each other about things they happen to find strange or unusual. Additionally, Strummer is willing to protect Jagger whenever he thinks his friend is in danger, and the two are often seen fighting alongside each other. Additionally, both of them congratulated each other upon their eventual evolutions.

Similarly to Elton, Strummer has a thick Cockney accent.

NEW POKEMON CAUGHT: STRUMMER THE TOXEL. I'VE ONLY NOW JUST CAUGHT THIS POKEMON, AND YET LIKE GEDDY AND BOSEMAN BEFORE HIM I'VE BEEN ABLE TO ASSESS A GREAT DEAL OF HIS PERSONALITY. HE IS CLEARLY INTO ROCK AND ROLL MUSIC, SPECIFICALLY THAT OF [THE CLASH], AND HE ENJOYS REBELLING AGAINST THE AUTHORITARIAN "ESTABLISHMENT". I ASSUME THAT, TO HIM, THIS MEANS "NAZIS, TERRIBLE PEOPLE, AND AUTHORITARIAN GOVERNMENTS." HE ALSO APPEARS TO HAVE A FRIENDLY RELATIONSHIP WITH JAGGER ALREADY. TWO REBELLIOUS, MISCHIEVOUS YOUTHS... I HAVE A FAIRLY GOOD IDEA OF WHERE THIS MIGHT END UP GOING IN THE FUTURE, AND I THINK IT MIGHT BE FUN.

Trivia

• Strummer was named after Joe Strummer, lead singer and guitarist of the Clash, due to his anti-establishment, rebellious, enthusiastic personality, as the Clash were often known for making songs criticizing the government. Additionally, it also serves as a pun on guitar-strumming-- Strummer is able to play the electric guitar much like his namesake.
• Strummer's chat handle and Hasslemon handle are the same: ClashingSatirist/clashingSatirist (CS). He shares this trait with Ozzy and Jagger.
• According to Goldenheart388, Strummer's character theme is "Rock the Casbah" by The Clash, his Broadway character theme is "Stick it to the Man" from School of Rock, and his headcanon voice is 2D from the Gorillaz.
• Strummer is the third member of Kim's team, after Sinatra and Dio, to perform his character theme, and the second, after Sinatra, to perform it onscreen.
• Strummer is the second of Kim's Pokemon, after Elton, to speak in a Cockney accent.
• Strummer was initially supposed to be named Lydon, after the lead singer of the Sex Pistols better known as Johnny Rotten. The name was changed to Strummer after Goldenheart388 discovered that the real John Lydon was a Trump supporter- a person that Strummer would absolutely be against.
• Strummer's evolution sequence is second only to Orwell's in terms of length, both in regards to how drastic it was and in regards to word count.
