Leon is a Pokemon Trainer hailing from the Unova region.
Biography
Ever since he could remember, Leo always had an interest in Ghost-type Pokemon. Whether this was because of a close encounter with one that he couldn't remember or just because they look cool, this want to know more about Ghost Pokemon never waned as he grew.
He had read books, watched documentaries on TV; he did anything he could to learn all he could about Ghost-types.
When he moved to Mistralton City at 10 years old, he and his father found that the house was prone to short-but-frequent power-outages. When they investigated, they found that they had a Joltik infestation on their hands. Using the opportunity, Leo ended up taking one of his father's empty PokeBalls, using it to catch one of the Joltik. However, he ended up feeling guilty after the capture, because he stole one of his father's PokeBalls. This made him confess to his father later that night, apologizing profusely and expecting the worst.
Surprisingly enough, he was allowed to keep it. While it was an odd choice for a starter, it was a step closer to becoming a Pokemon Trainer, and Leo and the Joltik, now named AC, had plenty of time to bond with each other before Leo started his journey proper.
At twelve, when he was sure he and AC were strong enough, they made a beeline to Celestial Tower, where he found an Elgyem that was being ganged up on by a few Litwick, who were clearly having the upper hand on him. Leo had AC fight the three Litwick, barely making it out of the tower themselves. After getting the Elgyem healed, he challenged it to a proper battle, adding him to the team under the nickname Cerbeau.
When he was thirteen, during his journey, he happened upon one of Ghetsis' speech assemblies. Like most people, the speech left him questioning how he treated his Pokemon. While he wasn't abusive towards his Pokemon, he was worried he was hurting them by just keeping them with him. He was quickly proven wrong when the two Pokemon he had at that point showed no desire of leaving him, and even with the speech, he didn't have the heart to release his Pokemon, especially when they were adamant about staying with him.
The following year, Leo saw a news story about how Team Plasma had blown a hole in Dragonspiral Tower. When he had seen this story, a red flag was raised.
Why would Pokemon Rights Activists desecrate a historical landmark? he thought to himself.
After a day or so, Leo and his team decided to make a trip to Icirrus City for curiosity's sake. During their investigation, they ended up finding a Golett that was struggling to dig itself out of the debris. After helping the Golett to the Pokemon Center, the team lounged in the same Pokemon center. The morning after, the Trainer woke up to see the clay robot sitting next to his bed, looking at the door, as if it was keeping guard all night. After it was made clear that the Golett wasn't planning on leaving, Leo added him to the team, naming him Automa.
After the attack on Opelucid City two years later, he completely disregarded Team Plasma's words, deciding that they never did care about the rights of Pokemon.
Appearance
Leo is short for his age, standing at five feet and five inches. Underneath his baggy navy hoody, he is a scrawny teenager. His hair is a messy dirty blonde mop that covers his gray-blue eyes half the time. He also wears round glasses and has a Cofagrigus-themed bag that he always carries around.
Currently, he is wearing a Golisopod-themed outfit: a pair of sunglasses, a hoody, and fingerless gloves (complete with retractable claws).
After having a chunk torn out of his bag by Blitzwing, Leo's now carrying an Araquanid-themed bag.
Personality
Because of his social awkwardness, he isn't one to start conversations, let alone one with a person. He can't do anything bad to save his life, at least, not without feeling guilty and telling someone before long. He's also uncomfortable with eye contact, so don't be surprised if he's looking at your hair instead of your eyes. If he sees an injured Pokemon, he's usually the one who ends up healing it instead of trying to catch it, because where's the fairness in trying to catch a Pokemon that's not able to put up a fight?

Relationships
AC: Leo may disagree with AC's constant want to battle, due to the former's mellow nature, but they do have quite the bond due to getting to know each other two years before their journey even started.
Cerbeau: Being his team's translator, they've gotten to know each other quite a lot. He's the team member Leo talks to the most, especially since he's a Pokémon with the ability Telepathy.
Automa: Leo was reluctant to have Automa join his team because he wasn't sure if it was because he saved the latter from being buried under rubble, the nature of Automa's species, or because it genuinely wanted to be part of his team. As a result, he first paid no mind to Golett. Whenever he thought the Golett left, he showed up seemingly out of nowhere to help out in a random battle, especially if Leo was in trouble during it. After reaching Driftveil City, and it was made clear that the Golett had no intentions of leaving, Leo finally added him to the team, though he told Cerbeau to tell Automa to stop calling him "Master". He's confused as to why Automa gets overprotective when he goes into PokéForm.
Mau: Mau was understandably shocked when he figured out Leo could understand Monese. Even more so when he showed Mau his PokéForm.
Blitzwing: Considering he first ambushed Leo and co. while they were training Leo's PokéForm, they likely didn't start out on the best terms.
Leo ended up giving him his Pokémon-to-Human Scarf when he and Cerbeau realized that Blitzwing was looking for Cerbeau's human form, which Cerbeau could only be in when he wears said scarf, essentially sending Blitzwing on a fool's errand.
During the April Fool's Day event in 2018, they got along relatively well, though this could be because Leo was turned into a masked half-Golurk superhero, and therefore couldn't be recognized as easily.
After a time skip, Blitzwing gave up trying to find "Claude" and tried to get out of Hoenn on his own. Blitzwing was furious at Leo for capturing him under a pretense to prevent a female Trainer from capturing him instead, though Leo did so because he was put on the spot, and he tried to reassure the Hydreigon that "At least his requests wouldn't fall on deaf ears".
Trivia
- Along with Ghost, his other favorite types are Psychic and Bug.
- He has a much easier time talking with Pokémon than he does with humans, even before he could understand them when he got his PokéForm.
- Leo debuted in this post.
