Wonder Keys that have been modified by powerful Psychics to be bound to individual non-Toy Pokémon. When inserted into a reasonable likeness of a specific Pokémon, the bearer can expend some number of uses of a move shared by their species and the likeness, turn the Key that many times, and use Substitute, imbuing the likeness with motive power and a quarter of their health.
Unlike ordinary instances of Toy Pokémon throughout the multiverse, these Substitutes are not fully sapient, acting as extensions of the bearer's will and power--homunculi to aid in battle or otherwise. Once the moves or health are expended, the likeness drops inert, awaiting further winding or the retrieval of the Key.
(Altered as they are, these Wonder Keys exist outside animus as psychic constructs, floating about, manifesting from and demanifesting to bearers' minds (convenient for Pokémon that lack hands to carry them). Intended to give focus and form to elemental power, these can be employed as cruder focuses for attacks, in the same manner as Mystic Water or Twistedspoons.)

Modified Wonder Keys that have been further altered to resemble powerful weapons from a distant world. The resulting semiotic resonance endowed these Keys with greater move-channeling ability, as well as a rudimentary rift-sealing power.
During the dimensional instability, when empowered by these Psychics, allowed the wielders to "unlock" rifts into nearby worlds--this ability has been rendered obsolete by the multiverse's repair.
