Tony is generally a jolly and happy-go-lucky guy to be around. He is always there to bring a smile and a joke to anyone he meets and can be a good and loyal friend if someone really gets to know him well. He's also got himself a big hero complex that he follows without question. Case in point, if anyone is in a jiffy, he can't help but try to lend a hand in whatever situation they might've ended up in.

As a detective though, while he'll still make some jokes here and there, he'll generally focus on the case at hand and will become more stern and serious. He also will tend to be a lot more irritable against criminals who show no remorse or guilt for their actions, as he thinks that people like that should be imprisoned from the rest of society indefinitely. Although, if someone is willing to sincerely change for the better, he'll let them turn over a new leaf, but that doesn't mean he'll really forgive them at all.

One Friday afternoon, he finally got his wish. When he arrived to his house that day, his parents were still at work, so he was pretty much alone for the time being, or so he thought. Next thing he knew, a Misdreavus suddenly popped out of nowhere and scared the living Arceus out of him. But this Misdreavus in particular was...rather sad for some reason. The poor little ghost floated his way to Tony's bedroom and began to bawl his eyes out. Tony instantly figured out that something was wrong with the Misdreavus, so he followed the ghost to and began to comfort him and ask questions about what went wrong. It turned out that the Misdreavus was trying to feed off the fear of a group of moviegoers who just happened to come out of a theater after a big horror marathon. But since the moviegoers were so used to the special effects and fake gore seen in the movies they watched, they didn't experience any sort of terror when the ghost tried to jumpscare them, only boredom (to be fair though, his methods of scaring were mediocre at best).  All the Misdreavus really wanted was to find a way to be better at scaring, as well as having someone who could show him what else he could do with his life. Tony, having knowledge of multiple ways how to scare people through the many, many horror films he has seen, took this as an opportunity to help out the ghost in need by teaching him how to use the techniques seen in the movies to his advantage. After some time, Tony asked the Misdreavus if he wanted to become his partner not just as a trainer, but also as his accomplice as a detective. The ghost agreed, so he officially caught him and named him "Stephen."

They went through many cases to start out with. Citizens would of course come for their help, but most of their clients were actually Pokemon of all shapes and sizes. Stephen would be the one to translate what other mons were saying back to him. Over time though, he was eventually able to get a good grasp on what any mon was talking about, and would be able to respond to them accordingly. Eventually, when the two heard about the J-Team arriving in Sinnoh, they thought it would be a good idea to go join the group and set up an office near them, in order to get more clients and expand their business. So, his parents finally sent him and Stephen off on their journey to help out anyone they can with their services.

Personality

Tony is generally a jolly and happy-go-lucky guy to be around. He is always there to bring a smile and a joke to anyone he meets and can be a good and loyal friend if someone really gets to know him well. However, he does tend to use this joyful attitude as a way to cope with some of the troubling events that have affected him and his family in the past, but he won't mention that to anyone yet.

Appearance

Tony has skin that's a shade of light brown, though he likes to get it tanned every now and then. His hair is thick and bushy with lots of curls, kind of like a 80's style afro, and he also has sideburns on his face that go down from his ears. His eyes are brown, but they're normally covered with sunglasses.

His causal outfit consists of a buttoned shirt decorated with multiple tropical flowers and berries, with a pair of black shorts or a blue swimsuit, a belt on his waist to hold his Pokeballs, and a pair of blue Kroks. He tends to wear this outfit for just spending time outside of work and just generally hanging out, but he can also use it as a means of staying undercover for stake-out situations. He also tends to carry around a silver suitcase that holds his healing items and other belongings.

During the nighttime, he wears Alolan Marowak-styled pajamas. He won't actually show that he wears those pajamas though, as he finds the thought of anyone other than his mons seeing him dressed like that quite embarrassing, so he only puts them on when he's by himself with his mons.

His outfit in his line of detective work is a purple tuxedo suit with dress pants, a black fedora that covers his hair, black leather shoes, and of course his classic sunglasses and his silver suitcase to top it all off. He cherishes this outfit the most because it was a special gift from his parents before he departed on his own journey with Stephen the Misdreavus.

Biography

Tony was born on one faithful Halloween night, becoming the newest member of the Lopez family. His parents raised him in his hometown of Hau'oli City, Alola, where he spent most of his time being a class clown at the Trainer's School, researching any sort of occult phenomena, and getting into a heck of a lot of crime, horror, and superhero movies and shows. He'd always been very interested in becoming a detective of sorts, to help protect others against all the criminals, evil teams, and poachers that plagued the earth. But one thing was missing, a partner to be his accomplice, the "Watson" to his "Holmes" so to speak.

And thus, the two began their own little detective agency, "Lopez & Company: Paranormal Private Eyes" (the two are thinking of changing the agency's name to something more grander in the future).

History

Battle Strategy

Tony tends to take a more strategic approach whenever he can in battles, mostly in regular and tournament matches, in which he'll analyze an opponent and their mons to take note of any advantages they have, or weaknesses he can turn against them. He also likes to use mons with type advantages whenever to best suit the mon he's battling against.

When angered however, he tends to be a lot more impulsive in his decisions, and he might not be able to make the best choices about what to do in a battle due to his emotions getting the best of him.
