The Hydrogens are a group of runaway genetic clones produced by The School. They were all the first schoolchildren produced in their batches and thus were named for the titular first element of the Periodic Table. To avoid confusion, they gave themselves code names derived from the isotopes of hydrogen.
Sometime in 2021, the two older Hydrogens orchestrated an escape plan. While they succeeded in fleeing, they were unable to save anyone else but themselves. Since then, they've resided in the Orren desert as nomadic scavengers. They've since settled down in an oasis a bus ride away from a settlement.
