Automa

Automa is Leon's Golurk, and the third Pokémon he acquired during his journey. He was previously a Golett, but evolved into a Golurk after a Horde Battle with Electrike after Leon came to Mauville City.

Personality

Automa's speech pattern can be described as limited and robotic. Despite this speech pattern, his levels of clingy-ness towards Leon and his teammates are extremely high, and he's surprisingly emotional despite his lack of tone most of the time. He absolutely hates to be alone, and he always carries a Roggenrola Poke Doll. Leo makes sure he never loses the doll, because last time he did, Automa flipped trying to look for it, and long story short, at least it was lost in a forest and not somewhere where there were people. He's also scared of sudden loud noises, quickly clinging to his doll or Leon if he hears any, and trembling even if he's in his Ball. Mentally, he's a child, even with his robotic mannerisms, referring to his teammates with nicknames and being prone to wandering off when something catches his eye.

When his doll ended up getting encased in ice due to Rabbid Leo's Freeze Blaster, he ended up mentally shutting down until he got a Gigalith doll.

He's also unusually loyal to Leon, only taking orders from him and his Trainer's Pokémon and refusing orders from anyone else.

This does not change all that much when he's in human form.

Battle Strategy

Automa tends to fight in a very predictable and straight-forward matter. He's slow but hard-hitting.

Relationships

Leon: He's been on Leo's side ever since he first saw him at Dragonspiral Tower. He's usually the first one Automa clings to if he gets scared, as if he's trying to protect Leo and the doll. He becomes incredibly protective towards Leo when he's in PokéForm.

Cerbeau: They get along well. At least, Cerbeau was the first to try and calm him down when he first evolved into Golurk. Since Cerbeau is essentially his translator, he considers Cerbeau "second-in-command".

AC: For him, if AC is nearby, Leo isn't too close behind, as AC was the one who found him back in Dragonspiral Tower. He's usually talking too fast for him to understand right away, so he doesn't really know him very well. He tends to think of him as "the one who's always with Leo".

Mau: He tries to keep his distance from Mau, mostly out of fear.

Blitzwing: He hasn't personally met him, but he did shudder when he heard him yelling, though that's because of his dislike for loud noises.

How They Met

When Team Plasma blew a hole into Dragonspiral Tower, the resulting explosion shook the tower and woke up a Golett...by pinning him down under a pile of debris. He spent all day and night trying to dig himself out, but he was weakened by the weight of everything on him.

The next afternoon, a boy (Leon) and his two Pokemon decided to investigate the tower. While exploring, one of his Pokemon, a Joltik, ended up hearing the Golett just as he was about to give up due to being as weak as he was. With quick thinking, Leon had his Pokemon help out the Golett, who got one look at him before fainting.

After using a Potion on it, the team ended up spending the rest of the day rolling the Golett to the Pokemon Center. After a night's rest, Leon found the Golett at the side of the bed, looking at the door. Ever since then, it refused to leave him, and when they went back to Driftveil City, Leon finally decided to let it onto the team, nicknaming the Golett "Automa".

• Automa has a large Roggenrola doll he carries around with him all the time.
• Automa's nicknames for his teammates currently include: "Bo" for Cerbeau, "Dandy" for AC, "Blue" for Leon, and "Rocky" for the doll.
• Automa has a great dislike for sudden loud noises because of the explosion at Dragonspiral Tower.
• Automa sees Leo's PokéForm as a little brother, and as a result of the Big Brother Instinct trope, he becomes very protective of Leo whenever he gets into PokéForm.

• In human form, Automa is known as August.
