Sergeant Jeffrey Sanchez is an Unovan detective and police officer who works for the Castelia City Police Force. He is Tommy Petersen's cousin-in-law.
Physical Appearance
Jeff is an imposing muscular man of about 1.88 meters in height. He is of [Afro Latin American] descent. He frequently wears business casual clothing (with snazzy suspenders) with his badge prominent and visible.
Biography
Officer Jeff Sanchez was born and raised in Castelia City as part of its longtime [Afro Latin American] population. He eventually joined the CCPD as a beat cop and worked his way up, eventually earning the rank of Sergeant. In 2014, he was assigned to watch over the Petersen family, who had recently been put under the protection of the CCPD after their youngest member, Thomas, had reported and busted an abusive spinarak silk harvesting facility that doubled as an illegal genetic experimentation lab and whose patriarch, Kenneth, was recently murdered. He took quite a liking to the family, especially to Kenneth's daughter Sara. They fell in love and were married less than a year later.
At present, Jeff and Sara live with their daughter, Miley. They recently moved back in with Sara's mother April and her cousin Tommy.
Personality
Outside the office, Jeff is a stern authoritative figure who prefers a firm yet gentle approach to discipline. He has taken it upon himself to act as a parental/older brother figure toward Tommy, who seems to have come to appreciate the gesture. He is also remarkably sensitive and is a hopeless romantic.

Trivia
- Jeff is based on both Marvel Comics character Jefferson Davis (Miles Morales' father) and rather heavily on Sgt. Terry Jeffords from Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
- His own marriage to Sara Petersen is described as a happier version of the 1992 film The Bodyguard, which starred Kevin Costner and the late Whitney Houston.
- He naturally likes the movie's signature song, I Will Always Love You.
