Cerbeau

Cerbeau is Leon's Beheeyem, Leon's second Pokémon, and the first one he acquired during his journey. He was previously an Elgyem who evolved after Leon's gym battle in Mistralton City.

Personality

Cerbeau is essentially the team's second-in-command, serving as the translator for Leon's other Pokémon. He usually pushes Leo to do new things, meet new people, and overall try and keep Leo's life from getting too boring. He's also the voice of reason in the team, being mostly logic-driven.

He's also curious about humanity, reading any books he can get his hands on, which Leo mostly buys for him. Due to his excellent memory and his tendency to read any books he comes across, he knows a lot of random things.

Relationships

Leon: Considering he talks to Leo telepathically and is essentially a translator, the two get along very well. Though he tries to push Leo to do new things, whether it's metaphorically or literally. He's curious about Leo's PokéForm.

AC: They take jabs at each other, mostly due to their clashing personalities.

Automa: They get along well. He was the first to comfort Automa when he was confused when he evolved into a Golurk.

Mau: Needless to say, he is very direct with Mau.

Blitzwing: Considering he ambushed Leo's training session and nearly attacked him while he was in human form, he doesn't exactly like him. It doesn't help that he's weak to Dark-types, being a Psychic-type.

How They Met

Considering Skyla was a Flying-type Gym Leader, it probably would've been a mistake to rely too much on AC. So Leo made his way to Route 7. There was probably a better option for another team member, but they got caught up in a thunderstorm that suddenly hit the route like a truck. They quickly ran to Celestial Tower for shelter.

The two decided to use the opportunity to train and maybe catch a Pokémon or two while they're at it. As they made their way upstairs, they ran into an Elgyem who had clearly seen better days, with a Litwick who was absorbing life force from him. Reading about how Litwick were dangerous, Leo had AC use Electro Web to distract the Litwick just long enough for the three to get away. While Leo was using Potions on the Elgyem, the Litwick came back with a Lampent. AC took advantage of the environment they were in while Leo was busy healing the Elgyem, and collapsed shortly after defeating the Lampent.

After the Litwick ran off thanks to a warning shot from the Elgyem, Leo healed AC and had a proper battle with the Elgyem, naming him Cerbeau afterwards.

Since he defeated a good majority of Skyla's Pokémon, and he got experience from the fight with the Litwick and Lampent as well as AC, he ended up evolving shortly after the battle, much to Leo's surprise.

Trivia

• He frequently calls AC "Air Conditioner" to mess with him.
• He learned Steel Wing through an incident involving a whole lot of TMs. He used his memory powers to erase the memory of the incident from the rest of his teammates because of his extreme feelings of embarrassment.
• Cerbeau debuted in this post.
• In human form, he's known as Claude.
