Souls of Silver are Trainers and Pokémon with a certain Attribute. Souls of Silver can claim the highest amount of Aura sensitives amongst the Attributes(for example: Riley.) That said, Aura sensitivity is not necessary to be a Soul, as there are plenty of Souls that lack Aura sensitivity, and Auric abilities also appear in people without any Attribute to speak of. They can also dispel Obscura mist created by Obscura Wizards. They also have an inherent immunity to the gold voice used by Hearts of Gold.
