Appearance

Ingrid Anderson is a relatively short girl, standing at 4'11". She has long platinum-blonde hair (not unlike that of Lillie's) and piercing bright blue eyes. She is often seeing wearing a black scarf, a white coat (underneath which is a gray shirt), a light blue skirt, and a gray winter hat, along with a pair of long white jeans and blue shoes. She is often seen with a rather sad-eyed, nervous, shy, or thoughtful expression, which befits her nature.

Biography

Born and raised in Snowpoint City, Ingrid was a wallflower for much of her childhood. She was very shy and reclusive, often preferring to stay inside her house and listen to music rather than interact with other kids. While she never learned Monese, she did study up on the Pokemon species themselves, and soon learned a lot about them. Prior to her tenth birthday, she discovered the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time, which ultimately lead her to her first experience with ABBA. Initially, she thought they were a good band, but didn't really think much of them- until her tenth birthday. That day, she met a Shiny Swablu with a love of theatre and music who encouraged Ingrid to leave her house and go out and experience a Broadway show that the Swablu had just heard of called Mamma Mia. Upon her leaving to go and see the show, she not only absolutely loved it (thus cementing ABBA as her all-time favorite band in her mind), but her experience led her to capture the Shiny Swablu and make her her starter, naming her Annafrid-- or "Frida" for short. This decision led to her confidence growing quite a bit, to the point where she eventually decided to embark on her own Pokemon journey and tackle the Sinnoh League.

Soon after leaving her house, she came across a group of evil Beheeyem who were holding a young Elgyem hostage. With Frida's help, Ingrid managed to gain the confidence to rescue the Elgyem, tell off the Beheeyem, and then battle the Beheeyem for total custody. She won, the Elgyem was freed, and said Elgyem, who she named Bjorn, has been immensely loyal to her ever since. From there, she caught Benny, a serious, no-nonsense, militaristic Shroomish, and Agnetha, an Audino who was just as timid and lonely as Ingrid herself had been before going off on her journey. Once she had these four mons, her Sinnoh League journey began, and she proceeded to beat Roark with Benny, Gardenia with Frida, Fantina with Agnetha, Maylene with Bjorn, Crasher Wake with Benny (who was now a Breloom), and Byron with Benny, Bjorn and Frida. Eventually, however, she soon came back to Snowpoint and found herself unable to defeat Candice, as most of her team were weak to Ice type moves. Even after teaching Bjorn Steel Wing, she still wasn't able to win-- until she met a quirky and silly Shiny Galvantula who acted and dressed up like a Pikachu. She named him Ananpi, and he turned out to be the key to finally defeating Candice. Benny and Bjorn helped out, and at the end of the winning battle, Bjorn evolved into a Beheeyem.

From there, it was on to Volkner, and she conviently ran into a naive, food-loving Trapinch just before the battle with him. She caught him, the Trapinch named himself Bitey, and then Ingrid proceeded to sweep the entirety of Volkner's team with just Bitey, due to the fact that he did not know his own strength. At all. From there, the final stop was the Pokemon League, in which Ingrid swept the entire Elite Four. She defeated Aaron with just Frida (during which Frida finally evolved into a Shiny Altaria), Bertha with just Benny, Flint with just Bitey, and Lucien with a combination of Ananpi and Bjorn. Against Cynthia, everyone got to take part in the battle, and thanks to Frida's new Dragon typing, Fairy-type move access, and immunity to Ground, she was able to easily defeat Garchomp. It ultimately resulted in an epic victory for Ingrid, and a slot in the Sinnoh Hall of Fame-- but Ingrid still wasn't done. She decided to keep traveling to other regions to defeat more Leagues, catch new Pokemon, and make more new friends-- and her next stop was the Galar region.

Personality

Ingrid's childhood was rather similar to that of Kendall's: she started out as a hikikomori who refused to leave her home before her starter (or in her case, soon-to-be starter) encouraged her to leave and allow her to see the world. However, that is where the similarities end, because in terms of personality, Ingrid is everything that Kendall is not. While she's far removed from her days as a recluse, Ingrid is still relatively shy and nervous. She has gotten better at opening up to people and enjoys making new friends, but while she is perfectly capable of standing up for her Pokemon (as she did with Bjorn, she isn't really that good at standing up for herself. She doesn't particularly enjoy being in large crowds of people, and especially dislikes loud noises and conflict. While they don't cause her to go into full-blown panic attacks, she does get very nervous and cover her ears whenever a conflict happens. One thing she does enjoy, however, is music-- particularly the music of ABBA, to the point where the first four mons she ever caught were named after the band members and the next four she captures follow an A-B-B-A naming pattern (with Ananpi and Bitey being the first two). She absolutely loves singing and dancing whenever she gets the chance to, and one will often find her humming to herself in public. She absolutely loves her Pokemon, but is terrified of hurting them by accident; in her debut appearance, due to her not speaking Monese, she misinterpreted Ananpi's mere lack of hunger and thought she had accidentally given him rotten berries, causing her to start crying. Ingrid, much like Kimberly Bond and Axis Hunter, likes catching cute Pokemon-- as a matter of fact, every mon on her team is one that is relatively widely considered cute (including Bjorn and Ananpi, the latter of whom enjoys imitating a Pokemon that is arguably cuter but definitely more popular than Galvantula). She doesn't like seeing her Pokemon in pain, but is able to knock them down a few pegs if need be, most notably towards Frida (though Benny usually fills this role). She can't really process jokes or sarcasm, and is prone to taking things way too seriously and way too literally for her own good. Overall, however, Ingrid is a very kindhearted and caring person who loves her Pokemon and is willing to make as many friends as she pleases... even if it may take her a bit to open up fully.

• According to Goldenheart388, Ingrid's regular character theme is "Like An Angel Passing Through My Room" by ABBA. Barring Ananpi, all of the members of the first six have an ABBA song as their character theme, and while other mons will still get ABBA themes according to Goldenheart388, the rule is officially broken starting with Bindi.
• According to Goldenheart388, Ingrid's Hasslemon handle, if she had one, would be europhilicVisionary (EV). Her regular chat handle, meanwhile, is simply 1221snowpoint. The 1221 in the handle and in Ingrid's ID number are the letters A-B-B-A written out according to their place in the alphabet; the "4" that follows in the ID number is a reference to the number of members in ABBA.
• Ingrid's birthday, April 6th, is the anniversary of ABBA's win at the Eurovision Song Contest for "Waterloo".
• According to Goldenheart388, every set of four Pokemon that Ingrid captures will be made up of two males and two females and will start of with a naming scheme of A-B-B-A, as a reference to ABBA. However, only the Pokemon that are actually named after the ABBA members have their species names line up with the A-B-B-A pattern.
