Annafrid

Annafrid ("Frida", for short) is Ingrid Anderson's Shiny Altaria, and the first Pokemon that she caught on her initial journey.

Personality

Annafrid, usually referred to by her nickname "Frida", is an absolute diva. She has an immense love of singing and music, to the point where she will sometimes sing her words (or at the very least speak in a sing-songy tone of voice) rather than just speaking them normally. In addition. she enjoys dancing and the theatre, and will sing and dance at just about every opportunity she can. Out of the entire A*Team, Frida is also the biggest fan of ABBA; while she certainly isn't as big a fan of the band as her Trainer Ingrid is, she was the one who first introduced her to Mamma Mia! when she was still just a Swablu, and can very often be found singing some of ABBA's songs to herself. Given her diva-esque nature, Frida is also rather dramatic and theatrical in terms of personality, and enjoys hamming it up on the stage whenever possible. Unfortunately, with her hammy nature- and her position as Ingrid's starter Pokemon- comes some flaws. Most notably, Frida has a bit of an ego complex, believing firmly that due to her being Ingrid's starter Pokemon, she is also the most important member of Ingrid's team. She has a bit of a tendency to hog the limelight from the other members of Ingrid's team, and often gets very fussy when things don't go the way she intends them to. She also tends to look down on Ananpi a bit- her first appearance showed her looking at him with slight disdain, with the implication that he is the "lesser" of the two Shinies due to her being caught first. Her ego serves as a bit of an annoyance towards Benny, who is very often the one most likely to get her back down to earth. Despite her evident flaws, however, Frida is also a very supportive and kindhearted friend towards the rest of the team. She not only got her Trainer to come out of her shell and leave her house for the first time when she was still just a Swablu, but she is also nothing but supportive of all of her Trainer's endeavors. She similarly is encouraging of the extremely shy Agnetha, and despite viewing herself as the superior Shiny to Ananpi, she enjoys his Pikachu cosplay, believing it to be a "true expression of theatre". She is also willing to protect her Trainer and friends whenever necessary. In the heat of battle, Frida usually relies on sound-based moves in order to get the job done, most notably Sing, which she uses to put her opponents to sleep. She also utilizes status moves such as Cotton Guard and Safeguard in order to ensue that the opponents' moves can do the least amount of damage possible. While she doesn't really use her Dragon-type moves often, when she does use them, they are a force to be reckoned with, especially given that Dragon Breath has a chance to paralyze the opponent.

Trivia

• Frida was named after Anni-Frid Lyngstad, one of the members of ABBA. Her full name is spelled slightly differently that that of her namesake's: "Annafrid".
• According to Goldenheart388, Frida's Hasslemon handle is dancingQueen (DQ). Like the handles of the rest of the A*Team (barring Ananpi), Frida's handle serves as a pun on an ABBA song/album title. In this case, the handle serves as a pun on ABBA's most well-known song, "Dancing Queen", while also subtly linking back to her love of theatre and dancing, as well as her dramatic tendencies and slight ego.
• According to Goldenheart388, Frida's regular character theme is "Thank You For the Music" by ABBA. The song was originally intended to be the theme of Ingrid herself, before it was eventually given over to Frida in part due to its slightly theatrical quality to its music. Ironically, the songs of Frida and Agnetha were mainly sung by each other's namesakes: despite being given to Frida, "Thank You For the Music" had Agnetha Fältskog on lead vocals.
