While it is unknown how the PMD-A variant came into being, in PMD-B they were an invention of the PEFE nutritionist Prof. Banana that became ubiquitous over the 600 years following the Dragon War. It can be said that Gummies are what make large scale mon civilization without predator possible in lieu of other technologies such as meat cloning.
