Lyuri Riese

Lyuri is a 16 years old trainer and older sister of Sakura who recently found her

Appearance

She has a long brown hair, blue eyes, is a bit taller than Sakura and is just as thin. Wears a long sleeved black shirt with two yellow buttons and collar, as well as a vertical yellow strip in the center. She wears light gray bermuda shorts and black boots, she wears a yellow wristlet in each hand.

Personality

Lyuri is quite tomboyish, much easier to anger than Sakura and in general is really is much more assertive than her. Despite looking like a rather tough girl, she can be really soft when she wants and really cares about her sister and her friends, still, it's rare to see her being so soft, much less crying. She's also not a very subtle person and can be very undelicate and rude, but her heart is in the right place.

History

Lyuri was present in the same cave-in accident as Sakura, they parents died, but unlike Sakura, Lyuri thought her sister was dead too and just ran away with her Sandshrew. After living alone for so long and going into a long depression, Lyuri moved on and started to travell around as a Pokémon Trainer, becoming a quite good one in the process. During her travells she remembered how Sakura and her were interested in the Legendary Darkrai and the rumours about him and that they wanted to meet him, trying to fulfill Sakura's wish she went to the New Moon Island and surprisingly managed to befriend the Pitch-Black Pokémon and started to regularly visit him, becoming somewhat of his link to the world outside of the island.

A long time later, she visited Hikari, trying to get an egg for her and after a while she left to the New Moon Island, she stayed there for a long time and then when she went to swim and came back, she saw her sister, Rawst and Hikari there along with Darkrai and the sisters finally reunited. After that she and Sakura started to travel together as Sakura started her gym challenge in Johto.

Relationships

Sakura is her sister, they are really close and Lyuri is very protective of her. She's also friends with her boyfriend Rawst and she really supported the couple to stay together.

She has friends in Des, Hikari and Alyssa, but currently she isn't very fond of the former due to an accident between him and Sakura. She also has a very bad habit of scaring Alyssa.

Grant and Riku are both really loved by her due to the former being present in a good part of her life, and the latter for supporting her after the cave-in. Duke is her second favorite in her team, losing only to Riku of course, being her best battler and a really loyal partner to her really made their bond strong.

Trivia

• She’s afraid of heights due to almost falling out of the Lost Tower, and consequentially isn’t too fond of graveyards either.
• She’s looking for the perfect job for her, having gone through a lot of different jobs in the process.
