Gallag is Kimberly Bond's Drednaw, and the fourteenth (and latest) Pokemon that she acquired on her journey, as well as the ninth (and latest) Pokemon that she caught in the Galar region.

Personality

Most Drednaw are feared throughout the Galar region for their destructive nature, immense biting power, and aggression-- and then there's Gallag, who stands in sharp contrast to nearly every other member of his species. Gallag is nothing like other Drednaw, largely because he doesn't enjoy battling at all and is a staunch pacifist in every sense of the word. However, in contrast to Paul and Geddy (who prefer to use status moves, but will use physical ones as an absolute last resort), Orwell and Freddie (who are terrified of battling and refuse to faint opponents), and even Dave (Kim) (who is a pacifist, but is unafraid to speak his mind- and very loudly at that), Gallag is a complete pacifist: not only does he not like to battle, he doesn't like any confrontation, period. In just about every regard, he has the personality of a '60's surfer dude/hippie-- lax, chill, non-confrontational, and exceedingly patient towards all. When Kim caught him, he didn't even want to battle-- he immediately attracted himself towards Kim and Orwell and allowed himself to be caught. Gallag is also very accepting of other's quirks without question, in a similar vein to Elton-- not only did he seem to understand Orwell's Newspeak, he didn't even question it, period. Gallag speaks in a '60's surfer-dude esque accent, making him the only one of Kim's native Galarian Pokemon to not speak in a British or otherwise UK-based accent.

Kim's personality file on him reads as follows:

"NEW POKEMON CAUGHT: GALLAG THE DREDNAW. I HAVE ONLY JUST CAUGHT HIM, BUT EVEN NOW I KNOW A LOT ABOUT HIS PERSONALITY. UNLIKE OTHER DREDNAW, GALLAG IS A PACIFIST, AND DOESN'T LIKE TO FIGHT. IN THAT REGARD HE'S VERY SIMILAR TO GEDDY AND DAVE. I SENT OUT ORWELL AGAINST HIM, AND GALLAG SEEMED TO UNDERSTAND ORWELL'S NEWSPEAK. HE DIDN'T EVEN COMMENT ON IT, WHICH I FIND SLIGHTLY ODD. I WONDER IF HE'S NOTICED... AND I WONDER WHAT HE WILL SAY WHEN HE FIRST MEETS PEECHEE..."

Trivia

  • Gallag was named after the Gallagher brothers from the band Oasis, on account of his staunch pacifism- ironically, the Gallagher brothers absolutely hated each other, and were at each other's throats for much of Oasis' run, ultimately leading to the band's breakup.
  • Gallag's chat handle is 4Turt-ty, a pun on 420, a number commonly associated with marijuana, owing to Gallag's surfer dude/'60's hippie-esque personality; despite this, according to Goldenheart388, Gallag does not smoke Skittynip or anti-herbs.
  • As mentioned above, Gallag is the only member of Kim's team that originated from the Galar region to not speak in a British or otherwise UK-based accent (while both Orwell and Paul were caught in the Galar region- Orwell by Kim and Paul by her father- and have British accents, both of them are Pokemon which came from other regions- respectively, Hoenn and Kanto- and thus do not count). Elton has a thick Cockney accent; Freddie has a regular standard British accent, as does Dalt; Ozzy's accent is upper-class Received Pronunciation; and Dave has an Irish/Scottish accent. Gallag, meanwhile, has a '60's surfer dude accent with a bit of '60's hippie-- both very much American accents.
  • According to Goldenheart388, Gallag's character theme is "Don't Look Back in Anger" by Oasis, his Broadway character theme is "Dancing Through Life" from Wicked, and his headcanon voice is Greg Cipes as Michaelangelo from the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TV series.
