The use of Twilight is among if not the most difficult of Obscuric techniques to accomplish, being a combination of both barrier and illusionary techniques. Annoski used it during the IK Arc to better prepare Sinnoh for his return. Its use is signified by the presence of a twilit haze over a given area.

Forms of Twilight

Twilight can be categorized in two types: Annoski's Twilight, and the move Twilight Haze. The latter was developed by Pokefutures as a simpler, weaker, and more accessible form based on Annoski's technique. Both place their areas of effect under a twilit haze.

Annoski's Twilight

Annoski was capable of covering the entirety of Sinnoh in his form of Twilight, and was able to maintain it until the J-Team's efforts to collect Tears suppressed it.

  • Non-Souls of Silver are reduced to wisps except in the presence of Souls who are connected to them.
  • Keeps most people and mons out of its area of effect while keeping most in.
  • Disables most electronics, though Pokeballs are left unnaffected.
  • Use of Aura Sense can lock someone in mon form. (Kim)

Twilight Haze (move)

As an in-battle technique, Twilight Haze is a weather move that overall benefits the Auric Spectrum, without being positively or negatively influenced by whether someone is a Soul of Silver.

  • Lasts for 5 turns, during which it can be supplanted by another weather effect, suppressed by Air Lock or Cloud Nine, or cleared by Defog
  • Attacks of any type other than TypeFighting.gifTypePsychic.gifTypeGhost.gifTypeDark.gif have their power halved
  • Weather Ball becomes TypeDark.gif
  • Solar Beam and Solar Blade have their power halved again, doing a total of 1/4 of their normal damage
  • Synthesis, Moonlight, and Morning Sun heal 1/4 of the user's HP
  • Harvest only has a 25% chance of activating
  • Focus Blast ignores accuracy and evasion checks, similarly to Thunder, Hurricane, and Blizzard during their respective weather
  • The time of day is considered both day and night for time-based evolutions of Pokemon leveled up during its duration, except with Rockruff into Midday or Midnight Lycanroc, or Eevee into Espeon or Umbreon, which use the real time of day. It is treated as dusk for Own Tempo Rockruff evolving into Dusk Lycanroc.
