Mothra is Ian's Larvesta, and the third Pokémon Ian has ever befriended.

Personality

In spite of her size, Mothra is a very kind, motherly individual. Due to this, she won't hesitate to attack when one of her friends is threatened... She is also as kind as her trainer.

Battle Strategy

Mothra is not as up-front with attacking as Piku-chan, but she can easily prevent opponents from moving as quickly through the use of String Shot. This can give allies like Raru enough time to incapacitate the opponent with a Hypnosis attack. Mothra's Psychic attack is incredibly powerful, yet rarely used.

History

Ian first received Mothra's Egg from his mother after he defeated Burgh and won the Insect Badge. One summer day, the egg hatched into a Larvesta, which is considered a rare Pokémon, and named her after one of his favorite movie monsters, Mothra. Ian's Mother believed that Mothra's Egg would be a good-luck charm for Ian, and since then, it became far more than just a good-luck charm. Mothra became a valued teammate and a great friend.

Achievements

• Assisted her trainer and the J-Team in the defeat of Kolemm at J-Con.
• Helped his trainer in the battle to save Santa Claus from the IDPD.

Relationships

• Ian is Mothra's trainer and one of her best friends.

• Piku-chan and Oshawittle are two of Mothra's friends, who also see Mothra as like a mother to them.

Trivia

• Mothra's name is a reference to the Japanese kaiju of the same name from the 1961 movie of the same name who might have been part of the inspiration for the Pokémon Larvesta and Volcarona.

• Mothra's birthday, July 30th, is a reference to the day that the movie Mothra first aired (July 30th, 1961).
