Ananpi

Ananpi is Ingrid Anderson's Shiny Galvantula, and the fifth Pokemon she caught on her journey.

Personality

Compared to other Galvantula such as Ringo, 9-Volt, and Issun, Ananpi is... odd, to say the least. He's very upbeat and very silly, often doing or saying things that might not make sense to other people who aren't his Trainer. He sometimes is prone to going off on nonsensical tangents and doing funny things, but those are just the tip of the iceberg of Ananpi's odd quirks. By far the quirkiest thing about him- at least, at first glance- is the fact that he enjoys dressing up and acting like a Pikachu. He not only refuses to use any Bug-type moves or go inside of his Poke Ball, but he will also shock berries in order to tenderize them, ride on Ingrid's shoulder, and sometimes try and zap other Pokemon awake. This tendency of his is so ingrained in him that he also often will add "chuu~" sounds to the ends of his sentences, particularly if he is excited about something. Ananpi is very often seen in Pikachu cosplay. He has painted the tips of his head fur tufts black to look like Pikachu ears, as well as red circles on his cheeks and a fake Pikachu tail made out of cardboard sprouting from his back.

Besides his silly, seemingly random behavior, however, Ananpi is also one of the most kindhearted members of the team. He is very friendly and compassionate towards Ingrid and the rest of the Pokemon on her team, and doesn't seem to get annoyed by any of their flaws. While he's not as innocent as Cuddles is, he is still very cheerful and exciteable, as well as being a bit of a ditz. He is somewhat literal-minded, and oftentimes will break the fourth wall and speak directly to the audience about something that he finds particularly strange or interesting. He also has a tendency to directly acknowledge things within the RP with a sort of Deadpool-esque meta awareness, such as when he acknowledged Toshiko's upside-down text during her battle against Bitey (Channah, of course, promptly denied this and insisted that Toshiko spoke normally). As a result of his general quirky behavior and tendency towards cloudcuckoologic, Ananpi is often prone to answering questions with things that nobody would think of, which are usually too crazy to be true. However, this also leads him to occasional flashes of brilliance. According to Goldenheart388, Ananpi is also a massive fan of the Galarian game show Pointless, and due to the aforementioned tendencies, he is extremely good at it, often coming up with pointless answers before they even come up on the board. He also enjoys Only Connect and somehow wins a lot of games despite it being labeled as one of the hardest game shows in the entire world. Ananpi is far more willing to battle than Cuddles is, but he is sometimes prone to being apologetic (though this is usually when he paralyzes somebody). Besides this, though, his battle style mainly involves the use of Bounce to avoid supereffective attacks. Once he lands, he will then hit the opponent with one of his Electric moves (mostly Thunderbolt). He is also prone to trapping his opponents in Electrowebs to lower their speed. Given his general quirkiness, however, he also will use other, more unexpected strategies that catch the opponent off guard.

Ananpi is usually, but not often, seen with a pair of silly-looking spiral glasses.

Trivia

• Ananpi's name is derived from a combination of "Anansi" (a trickster spider god from African and Carribean folklore) and "Pikachu".
• According to Goldenheart388, Ananpi's Hasslemon handle is pikaPika (PP), which serves as a clear reference to Ananpi's love of Pikachu. It is also the Japanese onomotapoeia for the sound of sparkling. Ananpi is the only member of the original A*Team to not have his Hasslemon handle reference any songs by ABBA.
• According to Goldenheart388, Ananpi's character theme is "Electric" by Katy Perry, the song made to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Pokemon franchise. Ananpi is the only member of the original A*Team to not have his character theme be an ABBA song, and according to Goldenheart388, will also be the only Pokemon that Ingrid catches to have this distinction unless an ABBA song does not work for the respective Pokemon.
• All of Ananpi's moves, barring Bounce, are shared with Pikachu.
• Ananpi is the second Shiny member of the Joltik family that Goldenheart388 has written for, after Ringo.
