The FutureSeries are a clandestine Pokefutures project that involved grafting living Pokémon tissue into a robotic frame. The resulting entity is capable of fielding the same power as a living Pokémon but are completely subservient to their handlers. The pinnacle of the project involved creating robotic replicas of Legendary Pokémon meant for sinister purposes. The surviving FutureSeries assets have since been seized by renegade remnants of the defunct corporation. Attempts at creating the FutureSeries are a recurring element in at least some timelines where Pokefutures exists.

FutureSeries units are named according to their species, deriving the suffix from the species and adding the Future prefix, sometimes in camelcase.

Configuration

Most FutureSeries clones resemble the Pokémon they were derived from. On the surface, they would resemble a cyborg version of a pokémon, but the resemblances end there. A typical FutureSeries unit does not have an organic skeleton nor a nervous system. The flesh was grown onto the robotic frame and cultured to resemble the organs found in a Pokémon. The cyborgs are run almost entirely through programming and have no will of their own.

The fusion of machines and living flesh allowed the FutureSeries to wield immense power without the need for maintenance nor the threat of going against their controllers. The mindless nature of a FutureSeries unit also negates the need to train them to perform attacks.

FutureSeries units are meant to be expendable. Most Pokefutures remnants are capable of mass producing them to a degree. However, they are dependent on the quality of DNA. In the absence of a good DNA source, the resulting FutureSeries units would perform far below that of their species template's baseline. Without adequate maintenance, a FutureSeries unit's organic parts would atrophy or become necrotic, but would continue to function until they are destroyed.

The most common FutureSeries units encountered are FutureCario, FutureChamp, and FutureZard.

Legendaries

A typical FutureSeries legendary unit is a large and sophisticated machine capable of fielding and containing vast quantities of power. Most FutureSeries legendaries would resemble an armored facsimile of a legendary Pokémon. They are meant to be shells to contain the cloned tissue of a legendary Pokémon, though to date only one sample was actually acquired. Thus, all but one of the FutureSeries legendaries currently known have been completely robotic.

The computer systems of a well-maintained FutureSeries legendary are impervious to unauthorized hacking, rendering them impossible to be seized by PEFEgons. It was believed that the consciousness of a human being can be uploaded into the computerized neural systems of a FutureSeries, but this was never fully tested.

History

The FutureSeries was developed by a panel of scientists that included Dr. Phineas Braun and Dr. Elizabeth Tonio. Many of these machines were seized by fleeing factions during the company's collapse, while others were abandoned and left to decay. One such group of FutureSeries units was under the control of Dr. Tonio's faction. Over the course of several raids, the Aurabolts had encountered and defeated several FutureSeries units in their raids against Pokefutures remnants. Upon the defeat of the Pokefutures faction, these assets are seized by PEFE, often under the supervision of Priscilla Kwan, and put into storage. The FutureSeries units seized in one raid in Orre against the digitized consciousness of Dr. Braun were tossed into a scrapyard made from the facility and left to mummify in the desert sun.

Known FutureSeries Legendaries

FutureEntei

The robotic FutureEntei was first encountered by the Aurabolts as part of the security retinue of Dr. Tonio. It was stored in the interiors of Castle Lycanrow near Eddisburg. It was destroyed when the castle collapsed upon the release of a glitch entity.

FuturePalkia

The abandoned factory where Dr. Braun was imprisoned housed a FuturePalkia, which was activated by the renegade scientist's consciousness during his fight against the Aurabolts. The machine's systems were horribly outdated, which allowed a Porygon
