The Interpol Authority is the ruling regime in several regions in the Lillifuture.

History

As its name suggests, the Interpol Authority was born out of the International Police in response to rising criminal activity from individuals such as Lucius Cain and groups such as Neo-Galactic. Though their initial intention was to provide security to the inhabitants of the regions in which they operate, over time their methods have become increasingly draconian, to the point where they are now effectively an authoritarian military regime under the jurisdiction of a mysterious individual known only as the High Commissioner.

The level of influence possessed by the Authority varies from region to region. Some regions are completely under their control, whilst others such as Alola have no Authority presence whatsoever. Some areas, such as Sinnoh, are disputed - the Authority's headquarters is based in the former Galactic Building in Veilstone City, and yet Nereid mentions that cities such as Pastoria and Canalave are actively resisting the Authority's rule. The Authority tend to enact strict curfews in cities where they are active, and their agents operate with absolute impunity.

One notable subdivision of the Authority is the IDPD, responsible for investingating and prosecuting dimensional/temporal crimes. Though largely regarded as a joke by the rest of the Authority, the IDPD are the branch of the organisation that have primarily found themselves in conflict with the J-Team due to their multiversal operations - the height of said conflict being an IDPD raid on PEFE HQ in 2018.

Trivia

  • The uniform of the Authority is inspired by NCR Veteran Rangers from Fallout: New Vegas, being a makeshift combination of a duster coat, riot gear, and gas mask/respirator.
