Nessa

Nessa is Poppy's Lapras, and the fifth she acquired during the Neo-Sinnoh Arc.

Personality

Nessa is very much sweet, and cannot bring herself to battle no matter how hard she tries, despite her claims. She wouldn't even bring herself to use Water Gun on a Caterpie. Despite this, she claims she will battle for her 'dad', Donut. At least, that's what she was like at first. After witnessing how cruel the world can be due to learning Donut's backstory, her personality shifts from sweet and kind to moody and upset. She becomes more serious and eager to battle - and it's become clear to Donut that she's not his little girl anymore. She's not the team baby anymore, she's more like the team 'drowns her sorrows in battle'.

Due to hatching from an Egg, she doesn't have much of a backstory.

Battle Strategy

She mainly relies on using Surf to drown opponents or fill the room with water in order to get around easier, or using powerful attacks like Ice Beam or Thunderbolt.

Relationships

• Poppy: Much like how she sees Donut as a father figure, Nessa sees Poppy as a mother figure.
• Donut: He is the first one to notice her personality shift and feels grateful towards her for playing a part in him becoming his best self. Although, she doesn't seem keen anymore on cuddling up with her 'dad'.
• Shroomy: She often wonders why Shroomy doesn't parent her as much as he does to the others.
• Sunrise: She often tries playing with her tails, but is told every time to not do that.
• Crusher: Nessa seems to have formed a friendship with Crusher, as she does not think he is a coward. As such, the two can be frequently spotted near each other.
• Stormwind: Nessa wonders what's going on inside Stormwind's head that made him such a show off. But she's just happy to see him happy.
• Lila: Nessa seems to think Lila's delinquent personality is just an act to cheer everyone up. As such, she calls her ideas 'great performances', which annoys Lila.
