(This page is a primer for the Ranger-2 Arc. As with all Arc Development pages, it is inherently a WIP.)

Arc Brief

After building up strength in Kalos, the Illusion Project has finally made their first strikes in the Ranger regions. The once-passive organization has begun making more direct moves in search of Mew, whom they plan to use to reset the world. For once, the J-Team can finally put a stop to criminals the first time they rise. Meanwhile, Neo-Galactic is preparing for their own rise to power behind the scenes.

Major Synopsis

(To be written)

Known Operational Details

Details from here are much more technical and are subjected to change. None of this should be taken as an official decision unless it is stated as such in the Discussion Thread!

  • Order of Region Traversal will be Fiore > Almia > Oblivia
  • Some setup for trainers exist, such as Pokemon Centers in most towns, though the regions are mostly focused on Rangers

Fiore Details

Fiore is a location with mountainous terrain and four cities located in the cardinal directions of the map, with Ringtown, Fall City, Summerland, and Wintown each representing different seasons. It is relatively close to Sinnoh.

Almia Details

Almia contains a volcanic island, a desert and a valley that is constantly covered in ice, which are the locations of artifacts known as the Prince's Tears. The majority of the population, however lives in the center of the region around Pueltown. It is to the southwest of Sinnoh proper.

Oblivia Details

Oblivia consists of six, formerly seven, islands named after the musical scale. The smallest four islands, Dolce (Destroyed by the Sky Fortress), Faldera, Layuda, and Tilikule, have no human residents and the lattermost has no residents altogether. The largest three islands, which have human inhabitants, are Renbow, Mitonga, and Sophian, the former two of which are connected by bridge. All other islands are separated, requiring surfing or flying mons to reach, though Dolce and Renbow aren't too far apart. The Ranger presence in Oblivia is less than in Fiore and Almia.

Individual Plans

Add any non-spoilery details here.

Eskay

PCs active:

Plans:

  • Echo's backstory is revealed over time
  • Echo has a very tense dinner date meeting with Tagg
  • Alyssa's loyalty conflict between the J-Team and the Illusion Project
  • Vierr focuses on mastering Ghost-type Obscura while not letting his Dark-type skills decay

Pippi

PCs active:

  • Fool
  • Amber/Remy
  • Cleo/RP!Pippi/Lawrence
  • Return of Acheron and Athena

Plans:

  • Third Confrontation/First Full-on Spar between Tagg and Constantin
  • In general, more of Constantin's backstory being revealed and the start of his sanity slip
  • More stuff on Anka's end. Especially with her becoming a medic (and, in turn, becoming slightly more like TF2's medic :P)
  • Indiana Jones-esque Archeology stuff with Lawrence
  • Expanding on the de Callone and de Nile family
  • Noirnannigans involving Cleo and Leonard (if possible, she may be able to represent herself on her Granduncle's behalf in Ace Attorney)
  • Snowmanigans in Illusion (specifically to make Constantin's life a living hell and for the delicious irony)
  • Fitting Acheron/Athena in either Lawrence's subplot or during Herbert's Masked Vigilante subplot.

Tagg

PCs active:

Plans:

  • Third Confrontation/First Full-on Spar between Tagg and Constantin
  • Tagg has a very tense dinner date meeting with Echo.
  • Tagg helps with the construction of the Pokeverse equivalent of the Clock of the Long Now. (Possible)

  • Verax

Plans:

  • Verax infiltrating Illusion and the resulting spyness
  • Jacob getting more time in as a Prosecuting Attorney

Crow

PCs active:

Plans:

TBD, lots of maybes and maybe some small-ish things

Herbert40k

Active PCs

Plans:

  • Lucius and Alice attempt to lead double lives as masked vigilantes, leading to some interesting confrontations with Shingeko and any members of the J-Team they happen to encounter.
  • A break-in at the Cain Enterprises office in Almia leads to an Ace Attorney-esqe subplot in which members of the J-Team are called in to oversee the trial and bring the culprit to justice.
  • Noirnanigans with Leonard and Cleo.
  • The return of most of my old characters and a buttload of new ones, including but not limited to:
    • Lucius' half-sister!
    • Lucille and Leonard's oft-mentioned but never actually seen father!
    • Various Neo-Galactic cronies!
  • More stuff with Shard, such as further reveals about her motivations, duels with several characters (including Lyuri, Vierr, and the costumed crimefighters) and her eventual unmasking.
  • Neo-Galactic actually does stuff! Entirely reactionary stuff based on thwarting Illusion's plans out of petty spite, sure, but it's stuff nonetheless.
  • Titan finally goes down for good after serving as a recurring villain for god only knows how many arcs.

Dune

PCs active:

Plans:

  • Dune and Deziree enjoying their time exploring the new regions, possibly running across ancient ruins.
  • Orloff being generally villain-y, Darien being tech support and generally neutral, and Cid possibly being a huge bastard.
  • Phosphora realizes that her parents are in danger (real or imagined) and is forced to follow them, despite fearing that any direct interaction might result in her not existing anymore.
  • Jeff the Guard and Max the Magmortar are still on vacation.

Arc Outline

  • To be added

Planned Consequences

  • The Illusion Project will recede before it is completely destroyed, and will make a gradual Heel Face Turn during the Hoenn-2 arc, whenever that is.
  • Titan's defeat near the end of the arc leads to Neo-Galactic disappearing for a time, only to reappear as major antagonists during Hoenn-2.
