Scramble is Leonard Braker's Dracovish, and the ninth Pokemon he caught on his journey.

Personality

Scramble, in direct contrast to his partner Snoop, is a natural pessimist. He is extremely worried about all sorts of circumstances, especially circumstances where he believes something has a tendency to go wrong, and will often focus more on the negatives of a situation than the positives. This was most notably shown during the scene where he and Snoop were watching Braker during his live newscast. While Snoop was more confused about the fact that nothing distracting was popping up at him (ironically being distracted himself by Gamecube in the process), Scramble immediately started to worry about the possibility of Braker discussing bad news on the air to millions of people. As a result of his natural worry and pessimism, Scramble can also be quite frantic, especially towards things that he worries about, such as the thought of Cuddles shocking him. Scramble is also extremely unlucky and klutzy, and is prone to tripping over things, much like Panto. Due to this, as well as his species' biology, Scramble considers himself a "mistake" to the natural order and has an extremely low sense of self-esteem. He often believes that he doesn't deserve anything, such as hugs, food, praise, or so on, and believes himself to be the worst at just about anything. Scramble also believes that other people and Pokemon will automatically hate him among first meeting him-- as he did with Romea and Cuddles-- even if it's very clear that they don't. Due to this, he is far from confident in his battling abilities, and can usually be found moping around somewhere. The only thing that makes Scramble even remotely happy is watching Gamecube on the TV with Snoop-- and even then, he has a tendency to fret, usually whenever he fails to get a question right. Despite his worry, pessimism, and lack of confidence, however, Scramble genuinely does care about Snoop, Braker, and the other members of Braker's team, and will not hesitate to help them whenever necessary-- even if he doesn't feel all that confident regardless. Despite Scramble being a genderless Pokemon, he identifies as male, and has a male voice and personality.

His favorite Gamecube game is, fittingly enough, Radio Scramble.

Trivia

  • Scramble's name is derived from his species-- as one of the Galar fossils, he is a combination of different parts of two fossils. Incidentally, his favorite Crashbox/Gamecube game, Radio Scramble, allows for a pun on this.
  • According to Goldenheart388, Scramble's Hasslemon handle is chimeraSaurus (CS). The name references Scramble's species-- a chimera is a mythical beast comprising of the parts of multiple different animals, similar to the backstory of the Galar fossil Pokemon. However, it could also be a pun on Camarasaurus, which was a real-life species of sauropod dinosaur that lived during the Jurassic period.
  • According to Goldenheart388, Scramble's regular character theme is "Flirtin' With Disaster" by Molly Hatchet. However, Goldenheart388 initially misinterpreted the titular phrase to mean "plagued by bad luck", which is the interpretation of Scramble as well. The actual meaning of the phrase "flirting with disaster" is "to tempt fate"-- which Scramble also does repeatedly, as a result of his natural pessimism.
  • There are multiple rules regarding Scramble's Hasslemon typing quirk. Generally, one, two, or three-letter words stay the same and don't change. However, words with an even number of letters have the letters in the middle switch places every two letters, with the first and last two letters staying the same. For example, the word "dragon" becomes "drgaon". Words with an even number of letters have the first and last letter stay the same, but reverse all the letters in the middle. For example, the word "water" becomes "wetar". However, there can be exceptions; for example, the word "middle" would become "midlde" instead.
  • Scramble is the only member of Braker's team, and the only character Goldenheart388 has written for, to type in a tricolor (teal, red, and green).
