The Battle of Cellafron was a battle against the forces of Lanius of Unova after their invasion of Kanto in the August of 2011 in the AU, taking place in both Celadon and Saffron Cities from August 18th to 23rd.

Background

In an attempt to draw attention away from Resistance gains, General Lanius was sent to Kanto, fresh off his pacification of the Angela region, in order to conquer it as part of a greater campaign in tandem with Rommel and Lelouch in Johto and Hoenn respectively.

The Battle

Lanius began his assault with a lightning strike of fliers to Celadon meant to cripple communications and cause mass terror, a modification of his subordinate Vulpes' plan to simply chlorine bomb the cities into submission, before his ground forces made landfall and started the main attack, culminating in the taking of Celadon's Pokémon Center and the crucifixion of its surviving defenders, regardless of gender or age. On this first day, an estimated more 18,000 people and Pokémon met their ends at the claws, jaws, and other assorted body parts of Lanius' forces, and they took the city.

Imageboards made reports of the crucifixions as well as defacing of Celadon's famous Growlithe statue, while the bulk of the actual military held position in Vermillion in order to protect its valuable port, destroying it to deny their attackers an advantage.

By the second day, despite the valiant efforts of vigilantes, including a unknown number of individuals who held out for six hours on an expressway before finally being overwhelmed by sheer numbers, Lanius' forces had managed to achieve a rough control of the city. It was also during this time that some J-Teamers under the command of the PEFE managed to reach Celadon, make a bargain with the Celadon Murders following their silencing of some sentries, and start a counter-campaign based around choking off their supplies before they could get a proper beachhead.

Following the destruction of Lanius' warships and rescue of his slaves through a daring air and sea raid, on the 21st they managed to take back the Celadon Center from Lanius' forces, serving as a major morale victory. Two days later, with the help of both the legendary birds of Kanto, and Rommel's forces choosing to switch sides to fight Lanius instead, the stage was set for the J-Team to get defeat Lanius once and for all.

After Helios managed to Rage Powder the bulk of his Praetorian Guard away and Heat Shield them to death, following an exchange of words the battle began. Lanius proved to be a formidable opponent, seriously injuring several of Tagg, Tracer, and Luke's mons, but he was finally felled by the combined effort of Tagg's female mons, and Tracer ended up crippling the Samurott by severing his spine with Tagg's dagger.

Following Lanius' defeat, the remaining members of Lanius' forces who didn't manage to get away soon surrendered.

Aftermath

In the end a campaign meant to be a distraction ended up being a grave strategic error costing Scolemis a lot of their military manpower, which left them at a disadvantage when Napoleon started his own campaign against Scolemis to install himself as Unova's dictator in the midst of the invasion.

Surviving Lanius soldiers either joined the Resistance in hopes of a pardon, were adopted by trainers in Kanto, or went to Oblivia to spend the rest of the war in exile.
