Chasmo
Chasmo is Owen Edmundson's Bastiodon, and the fourth Pokemon he caught on his initial journey, as well as the third that he revived from a fossil.

Appearance
In his mon form, Chasmo appears as a regular Bastiodon.
In his human form (prospective name Riley Berg; seen below), Chasmo appears as by far the oldest member of the Jura6-- an African-American man around 70 years old, emphasizing his nature as the most aged of the Jura6. He has gray hair and a headband with multiple horns on it, along with a gray jacket and yellow undershirt, gray pants, white socks, and gray shoes. He also is sometimes seen with a knight helmet and a gray and yellow shield with the design of a regular Bastiodon's head on it, which serve as echoes of his mon form.
Personality and characteristics
Of all of the members of the Jura6, Chasmo is the most aware of just how fleeting life can be. Mentally (and in terms of his human form, physically) the oldest member of the Jura6, as well as the longest-lived, he is peaceful, mature, and wise, willing to give anyone advice about anything whenever he thinks they might need it. Due to his past life as a parent (see "Background"), he serves as a mentor figure to most of the rest of the Jura6 along with Nautilu, and specifically helps the eternally curious Stipax by answering any questions he may have about the meaning of life and why things are the way that they are. He has also been shown numerous times to help Teryx, serving as a comforting figure towards him and helping him through any panic attacks he might have on screen. Most notably, he was one of two mons, alongside Stipax, to notice that Teryx was in the midst of a panic attack (though only Stipax tried to alert Owen), and immediately realized that something was wrong with Teryx when he began to attack Tyrie and Rhamphor. On a similar note to this, he has a very introspective view on other mons, and knows the Jura6 well enough to immediately tell if something is wrong with them that might require him to step in. This was obviously shown when Chasmo took notice of Teryx attacking Tyrie and Rhamphor, noting that he'd never seen Teryx act anything like this before in his life and that something had to be wrong with him if someone as shy and timid as Teryx was going off on the attack. Later on, in the Hasslemon chat with the rest of the Jura6 in the aftermath of Teryx's release, Chasmo directly noted that he had never seen Teryx sound like that before, and had no clue that he even could. In that same chat, he noted that Stipax had turned off the typing quirk settings; realizing that Stipax was normally among the first mons willing to use their typing quirk, he immediately realized that something had to be up, and immediately realized that Stipax had to be worried about Teryx's release if he was willing to turn off the quirk settings and type normally. He is extremely humble as well, and while he will tell stories about his past life, he doesn't really enjoy talking about his accomplishments, or his Trainer's for that matter. Thus far, he's only mentioned once that his Trainer has won the Kanto League, and more so uses his knowledge and experience to teach other people and Pokemon rather than brag about his accomplishments to others. This puts him slightly at odds with Cephalo, who, while still a good Pokemon, is more brash and willing to talk a big game about his accomplishments. Additionally, he's gone on record saying that he did not care about being revived, as to him, one life was enough. When he, of course, was revived by Owen Edmundson, he was extremely grateful for it, as he had not been expecting it at all.
While he might initially seem intimidating due to him being a Bastiodon, Chasmo is anything but. He is among the most patient members of the Jura6 along with Stipax, Nautilu, and Saura, if not the most patient member, and is very gentle and kindhearted towards them as a result. Due to the circumstances of his past life, however, he is also not afraid to put his foot down towards both the rest of the Jura6 (mainly Crina) and even towards his own Trainer when need be. Somewhat unfortunately, however, Owen doesn't often recognize this due to him not being able to speak Bastiodon-based Monese. Thus far, this has been shown on screen twice. The first time was after Chasmo told Anomalo the truth about his parents, causing him to cry; Owen thought that Chasmo had accidentally scared Anomalo and called him out for it, only for Chasmo to retort that he was merely telling Anomalo what had happened to his parents and to tell Owen to calm down (it was Nautilu who relayed the message). The second time was in the midst of Teryx's release. Upon seeing Owen smash Teryx's PokeBall to bits, Chasmo was so shocked that he was only able to get out a stunned, disappointed "he wouldn't..." In the wake of Teryx's release, Chasmo admitted to the rest of the Jura6 that Owen releasing Teryx was far out of line for him, and was one of the first few mons to get on board with Stipax's suggestion to go out and find Teryx in order to learn the truth about what happened. Due to his relatively peaceful and zen-like view of life, Chasmo is willing to help anybody with their problems whenever they need it, and is very reliable and hardworking. This was most notably shown during the trek to the Devon Corp, where Chasmo was the first one to suggest carrying everyone on his back in order to get them there, thinking that they would be tired as a result. Ultimately, however, he decided against it when he was called out by Mark and Travis, showing that even if he does want to help people, it can sometimes get the better of him. Later on, this was seen again when Chasmo tried to get Anomalo a Hasslemon handle; he quickly realized that the Hasslemon AI was a terrible crapshoot.
Speaking of Anomalo, and trying to get him a Hasslemon handle, Chasmo is also willing to help other people and Pokemon adapt whenever necessary. Among the mons on Owen's team, he was the first to suggest adapting Hasslemon for the sake of Anomalo's blindness, and was the mon who turned on the voice chat settings for Hasslemon. He also directly asked Anomalo what he wanted his typing quirk to be, and helped him set it up for him. His adaptiveness has also been seen in battle multiple times over, most notably in the battle against Roark's Probopass, wherein he made Probopass's Sturdy ability useless and then countered Probopass' Fighting-type move with a massive Metal Burst that caused the Probopass to faint. Chasmo can also be a bit of a Deadpan Snarker from time to time, though it doesn't show up all that much due to Chasmo's usually zen nature. He doesn't really get angry, but he won't hesitate to call out things that he thinks are stupid. He flat-out referred to the Hasslemon AI as a crapshoot, and expressed annoyance with its literalism when the AI repeatedly interpreted Anomalo's questions as handle options, stating "we're going to be here all day, aren't we". In keeping with his slightly sarcastic side and his nature as a former parent, Chasmo can also be somewhat blunt from time to time, and doesn't really have much tolerance for stupidity. This blunt, matter-of-fact side of him has been seen multiple times, most notably in mass scenes with every member of the team out of their PokeBalls. Chasmo was the one who broke the news to Anomalo that his parents were very likely long dead, and then pointed out that, due to Anomalo being blind, he would likely have a lot of trouble battling and would definitely have a lot of trouble going through the pottery wheel method (shortly after this, Cephalo proceeded to ask what the pottery wheel method was). As previously mentioned, he also flat-out told Owen (who didn't understand him) and the rest of the team later on that Owen's release of Teryx was very much extreme, stating that while it was true that Teryx had attacked Tyrie and Rhamphor, he had to have done it for a reason, and that Teryx would have nowhere to go, do, eat, or sleep now that he was alone on the streets of Sinnoh (a statement that was promptly relayed by Stipax). Additionally, he directly called out Maylene's Medicham during the Veilstone Gym Battle, stating that it was absolutely stupid that a Choice item-wearing Medicham would pick Thunder Punch, a move that does basically nothing against a Rock and Steel type like Bastiodon, over a move that would actually do a lot more damage and would allow Chasmo to put up a much bigger fight. As such, not wanting to deal with it any longer, he used Fissure, for the first time in the RP, to knock Medicham out (see below for more).
Among Chasmo's most defining traits is his flashbacking to his past life. He enjoys telling stories to the rest of the Jura6 about his initial life prior to his death, which are usually relayed to Owen via Stipax, as Owen cannot understand Chasmo's Monese. The stories usually serve to teach lessons to the rest of the Jura6 and-- if Stipax relays them-- sometimes to Owen himself, but more times than not he'll just reminisce for the sake of it. Thus far, this hasn't been shown on screen much; however, Chasmo did tell his backstory to Eurypedis, Anomalo, and Cephalo upon them getting caught. He mentioned how he had a very peaceful life, all things considered, and how he greatly missed his wife and children and wondered if anyone had found their fossils yet. Later on, when Cephalo asked about what the pottery wheel method was, he promptly explained to him how he himself went through the pottery wheel method twice (albiet offscreen). When he was seen onscreen again, he was finishing his story, and mentioned to Cephalo that going through the pottery wheel method was "both the most uncomfortable and most exhilarating experience of my life". He is also prone to waxing philosophical much like Joel does, very often about the fleeting nature of life and how the rest of the Jura6 need to live their lives to the fullest, as well as meditating alone as well as in his PokeBall. In his spare time, Chasmo enjoys doing unexciting activities that serve to relax him, such as meditating, writing poetry, and the like, though he will watch Gamecube with Stipax from time to time. He is also the biggest fan of Five for Fighting out of the entire Jura6, and according to Goldenheart388 personally chose "100 Years" as his character theme (the only Pokemon that she has written for in WAAPT to do so). Despite his peaceful and zen-like exterior, however, Chasmo fully enjoys battling, and is the second most-powerful member of the Jura6 behind only Stipax. He also has the highest defense stat out of the entire Jura6 for obvious reasons (namely, he's a Steel-type), and as a result is able to tank just about any move thrown at him save for Fighting-type moves, which he is 4x weak to. His main strategy in battle involves him tanking just about any hit he can with his defenses, mainly by continually raising said stat as high as it can go with his Iron Defense move. He will also lower the opponents' stats with moves such as Metal Sound and Ancient Power. Whenever he does go on the offensive, he hits surprisingly hard, and his favorite move to attack with is Heavy Slam, followed closely behind by Metal Burst, which he uses to counter any supereffective Fighting-type attacks, as he did against Roark's Probopass. While he does have access to a one-hit knockout Egg move (that being Fissure), he doesn't like to use it all that much in battle due to him thinking it'll give him an unfair advantage (and also due to it having only 30% accuracy); he only uses the move as an absolute last resort. Thus far, he's only used the move once-- against Maylene's Medicham, after she decided to use Thunder Punch with a Choice Scarf, a move that Chasmo saw as being unbelievably stupid.
His favorite musical artist is (naturally) Five for Fighting, and his favorite Gamecube game is Dirty Pictures.
Background
Prior to his revival and capture by Owen, Chasmo's initial life could essentially be described as "peaceful". He was born on March 15th and proceeded to have the longest lifespan of the initial Jura6 fossilmons. As outlined in his character theme, he lived for 100 years, and considering the fact that the dinosaurs we know of have lived around 70-80 years at most, Chasmo's lifespan was certainly impressive for a Bastiodon. During that time, he learned very early on about the futility of life, as his parents gave birth to him when they were nearing the end of their lives. As such, at the age of 8, Chasmo, like Teryx, watched his parents die in front of him. Thankfully, however, unlike Teryx, it was far less traumatizing, as both of them died of old age. However, that didn't mean the tragedy didn't stick with Chasmo. The deaths of his parents meant that Chasmo was effectively on his own, as he had no brothers or sisters to take care of him. He learned quickly how to take care of himself and defend himself from predators, which thankfully was very easy due to the fact that he was part Steel-type and as such had high defenses, and eventually decided that, for the sake of his parents, he would life his life to the absolute fullest. At the age of 15, he met his future wife, who he "married" at 22; his first child with her came 10 years later and has so far not been found or revived. He promptly treasured every moment of his life and lived in relative peace for the next 67 years-- not even a mid-life crisis at the age of 45 could stop him. Eventually, when he turned 98 years old, his beloved wife died, and two years later, Chasmo himself would be next. He died on November 17th, and by that point was so satisfied with the life he had lived that he didn't even care if his fossil got found and revived. To him, he figured, one life was enough.
Of course, millions of years later, his Shield Fossil was eventually found and revived by Owen Edmundson on September 30th, along with the fossils of three other mons. Naturally, Chasmo considered himself extremely lucky to have been given a chance at a second life, but also extremely surprised by it, as he genuinely did not think anyone would find his fossil and he considered his initial life to be his fullest. That having been said, however, he remembered everything about his initial life, and as such had a ton of stories and tips to share with anyone who he figured needed it. Due to this, he was very much mature for his age, and as a result got along very well with Nautilu-- the only other member of the Jura6 to have lived what people would consider a full life. He also got along well with the eternally curious Stipax, and would frequently be found talking to him and answering his questions about what life was like for him. To him, he didn't have any regrets from his previous life, so when he was revived and given a second chance at life millions of years later, he kept the same philosophy on life that he had had in the past-- to take life one day at a time and deal with everything as it comes. His life as a parent also helped him to serve as a voice of reason for most of the Jura6 and especially towards Teryx, who was extremely panicky. His resourcefulness and reliable and kindhearted nature ultimately led to Owen capturing him, and while he'd be perfectly fine with living another 100 year life... he's secretly hoping to live a bit longer than that, so that he can help as many people and have as many good experiences as he possibly can.
During the Kanto League, Chasmo was used quite frequently, being used against Brock, Lt. Surge, Janine, Sabrina, and Koga (of the Elite Four). He mainly relied on his defenses in order to get the job done, and somehow hit like a truck despite Bastiodon normally having very low Attack. He evolved himself for a second time via the "pottery wheel" molding process in the battle against Janine, and since he had done it before when he was alive, he was able to form himself into his new body very quickly (though not as quickly as Nautilu did, due to Chasmo being so much heavier).
History
Chasmo, similarly to every one of the Jura6 with the exception of Saura, made his debut on Hasslemon, in a conversation with Stipax and the rest of the group. He was initially introduced greeting Stipax, before telling Nautilu (who, as always, was annoyed by the fact that Crina was going off on one of her crazy silly rants) to chill out for a bit and to not sweat it. He then informed Teryx, who was worried about Saura's whereabouts, that she was sleeping, and proceeded to reassure him that he would be fine in Jubilife City. From there, Chasmo wasn't seen again in the RP until after Owen and Stipax were introduced to Fiore and Minerva. Chasmo was sent out and promptly introduced himself to all the Bug-types on Minerva's team, before offering to take the rest of the group-- including Teryx, who was panicking like crazy at the time-- to the Devon Corp section of the Techspo. However, Travis pointed out that not everyone could fit on his back, so Chasmo just decided to take Teryx while he led the rest of the team to the Devon Corp section on foot. Upon arriving there, Chasmo comforted Teryx after Chopper accidentally broke a chair, and then watched in abject horror as Pips' fake translation headband was taken over by Team Lightning. He then went over to comfort a crying Minerva, before Team Lightning arrived. Chasmo promptly declined to be a part of the battle and returned to his PokeBall, leaving only Stipax. From there, Chasmo wasn't seen again until after the intial battle against Team Lightning, where he helped to find Banjo, Hailee's Grookey. Soon afterwards, the TV Man entered the scene, and Chasmo noted that they had found Banjo before the TV Man sent out his Pokemon and the next battle ensued. Chasmo was also not used for said battle, and didn't appear again in the RP until just after Owen had caught Steggy, where he appeared on Hasslemon and greeted Steggy happily before correctly assuming that he was going to be used in the Oreburgh City Gym Battle.
Speaking of the Oreburgh Gym Battle, Chasmo was used in it, going up in particular against Roark's Probopass due to both of them being Rock/Steel types. Intially, Probopass' moves didn't do much to Chasmo, who just continued to use Iron Defense in order to raise his defenses as high as possible. All the while, Flash Cannon and Power Gem did little to nothing to Chasmo, but Discharge did a bit more damage-- and finally caused Chasmo to attack with Iron Head. This, in turn, knocked off the Probopass' Focus Sash, angering the Probopass and causing them to attack Chasmo with a four-times supereffective Body Press attack. Despite the supereffective hit and the mass amount of damage taken beforehand, however, Chasmo's uses of prior Iron Defenses allowed him to survive the hit and retaliate with a countering Metal Burst that sent Probopass back into the wall, defeating him. Chasmo wasn't seen for the rest of the Oreburgh Gym Battle, instead being seen again after Owen revived Eurypedis, Anomalo, and Cephalo. In particular, Chasmo was particularly intrigued by Anomalo, and very quickly learned from Stipax that Anomalo had gone blind. From there, he told Anomalo, who still thought that he was in prehistoric times, that his parents were very likely long dead, causing Anomalo to break down into tears and for Owen, who didn't speak any Monese on the Bastiodon end, to incorrectly assume that Chasmo had scared Anomalo. He scolded Chasmo, who tried to defend himself before Nautilu spoke up for him. Owen apologized to Chasmo, who shrugged it off. What soon followed was a massively long conversation on Hasslemon, during which Chasmo introduced Anomalo to the concept of Hasslemon and the concept of a typing quirk, setting up the Hasslemon voice chat system to account for Anomalo being blind and then proceeding to switch to an automatic typing quirk setting. After setting up Anomalo's Hasslemon handle, harmoniousAnomaly (HA), as well as his typing quirk, he then told the three new mons his backstory, while in addition catering to Stipax's hopes that Owen would be the one to find and dig up the fossils of his wife, children, and grandchildren. Soon afterwards, he learned about the respective backstories of Eurypedis, Cephalo, and Anomalo, and had a similar reaction as everyone else did to hearing about them: condolences regarding Eurypedis' backstory, wariness and concern towards Cephalo's (Chasmo even flat-out mentioned that Cephalo was endangering his life doing cliff-jumping stunts), and absolute horror and shock towards Anomalo's, followed by a reassurance to Anomalo that they would teach him everything they could.
From there, Chasmo wasn't used at all in the Eterna City Gym Battle due to him being weak to all of the Grass-type mons used by Gardenia. As a matter of fact, Chasmo wasn't seen in the RP again until just after Gwana was captured. He introduced himself to Gwana, and then told Steggy to let Gwana rest upon hearing that she "had some brooding to do". Shortly afterwards, Chasmo was used again, this time in the Veilstone City Gym Battle, where he put up a very impressive showing. After Nautilu fainted from Maylene's Infernape coming in, Chasmo promptly popped out of his PokeBall on his own accord, and managed to defeat a mon that had a major type advantage against him with one Earthquake. Soon afterwards, he went up against Maylene's Medicham, and upon seeing that Medicham-- who had a Choice Band-- use Thunder Punch-- a move that did basically nothing against a Rock/Steel type like Chasmo-- Chasmo decided that the move choice was so stupid and idiotic that he had no choice but to pull out his one-hit knockout move Fissure, which took down Maylene's Medicham immediately. After Owen won the battle, Chasmo was then told by Saura about her evolution into an Aurorus on Hasslemon, and after congratulating her on it quickly used the opportunity to teach Anomalo and Cephalo about the pottery wheel method (since they never got to go through it in their past lives). He was still telling the story of his own evolution to them when he, along with all of the other mons on the team, were brought out to celebrate Owen's win against Maylene and watch Cephalo get his goggles (and, by proxy, finally get his Hasslemon handle, bespectacledBomb (BB)). He congratulated Owen on his win against Maylene, and then didn't appear again until after Owen revived his next three Pokemon: Archie, Tyrie, and Rhamphor.
Chasmo was among the first Jura6 members to introduce themselves to the three new mons, and told them about how they defeated the Kanto League (Tyrie, in return, promptly wanted to know what a "Kanto League" was). However, Chasmo was soon interrupted by Teryx coming through and wanting to see the new mons. Chasmo, in response, moved out of the way, but as soon as Teryx saw Tyrie and Rhamphor, he promptly started having flashbacks followed by a panic attack. Chasmo, in response, noticed, and quickly asked Stipax if Teryx was alright. Before Stipax could alert Owen, though, Teryx attacked both of them. Chasmo watched in pure shock and horror as Teryx attacked Tyrie and Rhamphor, noting that this wasn't like him and immediately deducing that something was wrong. Soon afterwards, he looked on in horror as Teryx accidentally attacked his own Trainer, and then promptly became even more horrified when Owen rose up in anger. The two of them started to argue with each other, with Chasmo being too stunned to step in-- and then Owen smashed Teryx's PokeBall and told Teryx to get out. Chasmo, in return, finally tried to tell Owen that he was going too far and that smashing Teryx's PokeBall was a bit extreme, but Owen, not being able to understand Chasmo, told him that Teryx could fare just fine on his own and that he could no longer stay here. Owen then forced Teryx out of the team, and an ashamed Teryx left in disgrace while Chasmo sadly wished him luck. Even so, though, Chasmo remained stunned by the whole ordeal and didn't quite understand it. Soon afterwards, he was contacted by Stipax, who had turned off the typing quirk settings; Chasmo, recognizing this as serious business, immediately asked Stipax what was up. Stipax then proceeded to explain to Chasmo that he didn't know what was going on with Teryx, and that they should go back to get his side of the story. Chasmo, who was shocked by the thought that Teryx, of all mons, could even sound or act like that, agreed, along with the rest of the Jura6. He did, however, warn Stipax that it was nighttime, but was quickly dissuaded in his worries by Saura and Stipax. Soon afterwards, Chasmo, along with the rest of the Jura6, said goodbye to Owen, abandoning their chances at the Noize Destroyz concert with one goal in mind: find Teryx and get more info about what happened.
On the course of the Jura5's journey, Chasmo helped to find the massive tunnel that Teryx dug to Veilstone City, and in the midst of following it decided to have the Jura5's stop in Eterna. It started to rain in the midst of the Jura5's discussion, however, causing Chasmo (who had been thinking of sleeping in Eterna for the night) to want to leave. However, the rest of the Jura5 opted to stay, causing Chasmo to eventually relent, complaining that he'd probably be fainted in the morning. In response to this, Stipax made Chasmo a makeshift umbrella; a grateful Chasmo happily accepted it before all of them went to sleep. The next morning, the rain had stopped and the group continued on to Veilstone City, where they found Teryx in a Secret Base. Chasmo tried to explain to a suspicious Pat that they were only there to find and pick up Teryx, but Pat didn't speak any Monese. Chasmo quickly realized this and promptly diverted the info to the English-speaking Nautilu, who relayed it. Soon afterwards, Teryx was pulled out of the Secret Base and reunited with Chasmo, who shared in the rest of the Jura5's shock when Teryx began to actively beg for them to kill him. Chasmo refused. Later on, after Teryx confessed his feelings of guilt to the rest of the Jura6, Chasmo asked Teryx what was so wrong about Tyrunt and Aerodactyl, which ended up triggering Teryx's PTSD and sending the poor Archeops into the midst of an intense flashback during which he believed he was still in prehistoric times and the Tyrantrum and Aerodactyl from his childhood were going to kill the entire Jura5 (a realization of a nightmare he had had last night). A shocked Chasmo was concerned for Teryx, and helped to reassure him; during this, he found out from Nautilu about Teryx having a flashback specifically. Once Stipax had calmed Teryx down, Chasmo noted (after Teryx expressed confusion about Crina giving him a beef cookie) that Teryx was back to his regular self, and then told Teryx what the rest of the Jura5 were really there for. However, Teryx's worries about the present led to him having a panic attack, which the Jura5 helped him calm down from. After they did so, a grateful Teryx decided it was finally time to tell the Jura5 his backstory, and Chasmo promptly listened to the whole thing.
Upon hearing Teryx's backstory in full, Chasmo was completely stunned by it, and while he still believed that Teryx straight-up attacking Tyrie and Rhamphor wasn't the best idea on his part, he had a much bigger understanding of why Teryx did what he did. From here, he was informed by Nautilu about the full extent of Teryx's PTSD, and everything began to make even more sense to him. Shortly afterwards, he joined in on the subsequent Wheel watch party that was suggested by Saura and Stipax in the Pokemon Center, and after it was over he and the rest of the Jura5 all headed back to go and reunite with Owen. Upon doing so, he was reunited with the rest of the team via Hasslemon and told them everything that he had learned about Teryx's PTSD. The rest of the team were horrified, and Chasmo subsequently agreed with the rest of the team (upon hearing a suggestion put out by Nautilu) to not tell Owen anything about what they had learned until after the battle in Pastoria was complete. Chasmo, due to his Rock/Steel typing, didn't end up participating in said Gym Battle due to his typing, but did find out about Gwana's evolution offscreen and congratulated her for it. After the Pastoria Gym battle was over and Owen had been told about Teryx's PTSD from Nautilu, Eurypedis, and Stipax (and subsequently had gotten a SSC for the first time), Chasmo then appeared in front of a now-Bunnelby Owen and saw him in Pokeform for the first time, with Owen and him soon quickly coming to the realization that Owen could now understand his mons due to the SSC. After Owen was human once again, he found that he was still able to understand his mons, and decided to go and talk to Teryx and bring him back on the team, with Chasmo offering to carry Owen around on his back. He promptly carried Owen all the way to the Veilstone City Pokemon Center, before Owen realized he had to go and fix Teryx's PokeBall. While he gathered all the shards, Chasmo offered to help Owen, but Owen declined. After trading in Teryx's old PokeBall for a new Luxury Ball, he headed back onto Chasmo's back and went to the Center for real, soon afterwards finally recapturing Teryx. Via Hasslemon, Chasmo greeted Teryx again, before quickly finding out about his crazy nightmares. He thought them disturbing, but eventually decided to go and head off to bed. The next morning, Owen informed the entire team, including Chasmo, about his intent to go back to Pewter City and take a break before taking on Fantina in Hearthome City. Chasmo agreed, and was promptly taken back to Pewter City along with the rest of Owen's mons.

Relationships
- Owen Edmundson: Owen Edmundson is Chasmo's Trainer, and his closest friend as a result. He is extremely grateful and humbled to this day by Owen choosing his fossil to revive, since he didn't think he was going to get a second chance at life and figured that only one life was enough. Ever since, Chasmo has served as a loyal friend to Owen, and has a very strong bond with him. That being said, though, Chasmo isn't afraid to call Owen out, even if Owen can't understand him. Besides admitting to Owen that him releasing Teryx was going a bit too far, he also called Owen out for immediately assuming he was scaring Anomalo.
- Stipax: Chasmo and Stipax have the closest relationship out of all of the members of the Jura6. The two are very often seen together, and are usually the first two mons to come to a similar- or even the same- decision about something. Chasmo also serves as a guide of sorts to Stipax, teaching him as much as he can about the world around him, and enjoys telling Stipax stories of his previous life before he was revived. On numerous occassions, Stipax has agreed with Chasmo on a multitude of things, among them the need for adaptation in the wake of finding out about Anomalo's blindness and also going off to try to find Teryx.
- Nautilu: Chasmo and Nautilu got along from the moment they first met due to their similar personalities, with Nautilu teaching Chasmo everything he knew about how the 13th century worked and the advancements in technology that had been made since prehistoric times. After their respective evolutions, and even nowadays, Nautilu and Chasmo still get along well with each other, and are always willing to learn something from each other. They also are both willing to help out their fellow Pokemon whenever necessary. Despite this, however, the two of them haven't interacted that much yet on screen in WAAPT.
- Crina: Chasmo gets along fairly well with Crina, but can be a bit caught off guard by her pranks. That being said, though, he's the most receptive of the team (besides Stipax and Saura) to Crina's unusual delusions about her life- in his debut, he told Nautilu "don't sweat it" after the latter flat-out told Crina that what she thought were her "teeth" are actually her eyes. Over time, however, he has been getting a bit more annoyed by Crina's crazy rantings. Despite that, however, he still cares a lot about Crina, and is willing to protect her from anything that he sees as a threat-- as long as Crina hasn't gotten them already, that is.
- Teryx: Chasmo and Teryx, especially in the wake of the latter's release, aren't as close as Chasmo and Stipax are. However, that being said, they still get along very well with each other. Chasmo is willing to comfort and help Teryx, and was one of only two mons (the other being Stipax) to notice that Teryx was having a massive panic attack. Additionally, in the wake of Teryx's release from the team, Chasmo immediately realized that something had to be up with Teryx if he was attacking Tyrie and Rhamphor to such an extent, and almost immediately went along with Stipax's idea of going off to find Teryx and figure out what was going on. Later on, upon the Jura5 actually finding Teryx, he helped to comfort Teryx through a panic attack and reassured him that the Jura5 were not going to kill him.
- Saura: As Saura was a constant narcoleptic prior to her evolution, she and Chasmo didn't interact much. However, during the rare times when Saura was awake as an Amaura, she and Chasmo had a fairly good relationship with each other due to their similar personalities, and Chasmo would often tell her stories about his past life which Saura greatly enjoyed. After her evolution into an Aurorus, due to her staying awake more often she and Chasmo are seen interacting far more, and both have very similar personalities that allow them to easily come to agreement on things. Chasmo also notably congratulated Saura on her evolution into an Aurorus after she broke the news to everyone barring Stipax (who had seen it for himself) on Hasslemon.
- Anomalo: Chasmo has felt a sense of pity for Anomalo since the day the two of them met and Chasmo found out that Anomalo was blind. Since then, he has helped the shy, timid Anorith on multiple occassions. Most notably, he helped set Anomalo up on Hasslemon, and not only gave him his handle and typing quirk, but also found a way to change the Hasslemon settings to make it accessible to him (namely, by turning on the voice chat settings, something that Gwana instantly noted upon her joining the team later on). He has also helped to teach Anomalo new things about the world around him, and was the one to tell Anomalo the truth about his parents, as well as noting that he would try to help Anomalo accomodate to battle and, later on, the Pottery Wheel evolution method.
- Cephalo: Chasmo and Cephalo haven't interacted that often on screen much, but in the few moments they have, Chasmo is torn between being either mildly amused by Cephalo's actions or extremely wary of them. He is under the firm belief that Cephalo shouldn't be engaging in dangerous activities that could endanger his life, something that Cephalo doesn't even bother to pay any mind to. However, at the same time, Chasmo does admire Cephalo's battling abilities and was very impressed upon hearing from Cephalo that he had won Owen the Veilstone Gym Battle for them. He also is a fan of Cephalo's goggles.
- Archie: As Archie is a newly-revived mon, he hasn't had that much onscreen interaction with Chasmo, and he and Chasmo have yet to form a fully-fleshed out dynamic. However, with that being said, they do seem to share similar personality traits with each other, especially their propensity to wax philosophical about life and the world around them. They were also both equally shocked when Teryx attacked Tyrie and Rhamphor, implying that after the Jura6 go off on their adventure and return to Owen's team, it's very likely that Chasmo and Archie will become great friends with each other.

Trivia
- Chasmo's name is derived from Chasmosaurus, one of the ceratopsians that Bastiodon is based on. It is also potentially derived from "chasm", referencing Chasmo's Egg move Fissure.
- According to Goldenheart388, Chasmo's Hasslemon handle is reliableBastille (RB). The handle falls into the same category as Freddie's and Elton's, where the handle serves as a description of Chasmo's personality; the word "bastille" is part of Bastiodon's name origin and serves as the name of the famous French fortress that was demolished on July 14.
- According to Goldenheart388, Chasmo's English character theme is "100 Years" by Five for Fighting, arguably their most famous song. The song, according to Goldenheart388, is supposed to be Chasmo reflecting back on his life before he became a Fossil and was revived by Owen, which he does extremely often, while the chorus is a reflection of his anti-nihilistic view on life. His Japanese character theme, meanwhile, is "Boku wa Koko ni Iru", which is Alphonse Elric's image song from the original version of Fullmetal Alchemist, while his headcanon voice is that of the one and only Morgan Freeman, specifically his role as Red in The Shawshank Redemption.
- Chasmo is the second member of the Jura6, after Stipax, to have his character theme be a Five for Fighting song, as well as the second member of Owen's team overall to have a Five for Fighting song as his character theme.
- Chasmo is the first character that Goldenheart388 has written for who knows a one-hit knockout move to have said one-hit knockout move as an Egg move (Peechee, Lithium and Dio all learned Guillotine via level-up). He is also the only mon who knows a one-hit knockout move besides Guillotine (in his case, it's Fissure).
- Chasmo's human name, "Riley Berg", shares its initials with that of his Hasslemon handle reliableBastille, with both of them abbreviating to RB. This pattern applies to every member of the Jura6. The "Berg" part of the name in particular is derived from a word for "mountain", referencing Chasmo's half-Rock typing.
- Chasmo's revival day, September 30th, is the day on which, in 1861, the first Archeopteryx fossil was discovered; he shares his revival day with Nautilu, Crina, and Teryx. His actual birthday, March 15th, is one day before the release date of the movie 300, and also potentially a reference to his character theme "100 Years"-- the first line of the song is "I'm 15 for a moment".
- Chasmo has the longest initial lifespan of all the fossilmons in the Jura6, being born on March 15th and dying 100 years later on November 17th. His death date of November 17th is the release day of his character theme, "100 Years" by Five for Fighting.
