Dio

Dio is Kimberly Bond's Gliscor, and the third Pokemon she acquired on her journey.

Personality

Dio is, by far and away, the most excitable, emotional, and fun-loving member of Kim's team. He has a tendency to be overly exciteable- he types fully in caps-lock and often screams his face off- but has an absolute lust for life and a desire to make people around him happy. Dio absolutely loves rock music, and was the most excited to join the Battle of the Bands out of all of Kim's team members; he can often be found sticking out his tongue and waggling it around with delight. Dio is very curious and loves to battle more than anything else in the world, even if he hasn't yet been used in an official Gym Battle; he can often be seen cheering on other opponents during Gym Battles or the like. He has an immense desire to not learn any new moves via TM or TR, as he believes it to be too easy. Instead, he prefers to learn a move the old-fashioned way: via teaching and lots and lots of practice, which is how he learned Dark Pulse courtesy of Pentigan. Dio can sometimes have a splotchy memory- he needed a mnemonic in order to learn Piku-chan's name- and has a rash streak, sometimes doing things without thinking.

Despite his fun-loving exterior, however, Dio is secretly one of the most tragic members of Kim's team and has crippling self-esteem issues that resulted from his old Trainer slashing him across the face with a knife and gaslighting him for not being able to battle well. Likely as a result of his crippling self-esteem, Dio desires more than anything to please his Trainer and make her proud of him. He also gets very excited about the possibility of things happening to him, such as evolution, Dynamaxing, learning a new move, or turning into a human- both that and his evolution had him gushing with delight upon realizing that those things had happened to him. Learning Dark Pulse seems to have improved his battling strategies, but Dio still can't fly very well, even after evolving into a Gliscor. Post-evolution, Dio's personality remains exactly the same as he was when he was a Gligar: he's still relatively emotional, loves sticking his tongue out and waggling it around, and still has an immense enjoyment for life and for rock and roll music. As a reference to (one of) his namesakes (Dio Brando from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure), Dio will usually express his excitement with an intense cry of "WRYYYYYYYYYYYYY--!", as he did post-evolution and post-capture. He also has a desire to drop steamrollers from the sky and freeze time, both of which are things he cannot do... yet.

• Dio is named after Ronnie James Dio and after Dio Brando from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, on account of him being a vampire bat Pokemon and due to his rash, fun-loving, boisterous personality.
• Dio's human form is named Ronnie James Brando, a combination of the names of his two namesakes.
