Pianissimo Morendo

Pianissimo Morendo, or Pianis for short, is the oldest of the Morendo siblings. Like his brother Forte and his two sisters, he specializes in training a particular type of Pokémon; in his case, Ice types. While he is from Unova, he has also spent a lot of time in Sinnoh tracking down unique Ice type Pokémon. He has also spent a few years working as a gym trainer in the Snowpoint City gym.

Appearance

Pianis wears cold weather gear wherever he goes, since he has a team that can create instant snowstorms. He has a variety of winter coats, hats, scarves, and the like. His hair is the longest out of the entire Morendo family's, and often covers one of his eyes.

Personality

Pianis is generally laid-back and aloof, and tends to stay calm in most situations. He believes in being prepared for anything, and as such carries around a lot of gear (particularly winter gear). One thing that will cause him to lose his cool is mentioning that his name sounds vaguely like "penis", which will likely get the offender frozen to a wall.

Relationships

Pianis doesn't really know anyone else in the group all that well, apart from his siblings. However, he does consider Onion and Amanita to be friends of his, as they all joined around the same time.

As of Kalos, Pianis and Amanita are now a couple.

Pianis is friends with Candice, due to having worked in her gym for a while.

Pianis and Jenna used to be in a romantic relationship, but have broken up.

• Every Pokémon in Pianis' team knows Blizzard. With the exception of Sparkplug, they also all know Hail and Ice Beam.
• Pianis owns a house in Snowpoint City, where he lived while working as a Gym Trainer.
• He is a fan of western-style RPGs and strategy games, including The Ancient Inscriptions and BattleCreation. He always plays an ice-wielding magic user in them.
• Every battle Pianis has been in on-screen has been doubles or more. His team is built to take advantage of this, with Blizzard being able to hit multiple targets.
• Every Pokémon in Pianis' team is weak against Rock type attacks.
• Among the four Morendo siblings, every starter Pokémon is an Ice or Dark type. However, neither Pianis nor Mezzo had a Sneasel line mon until Giri hatched.
• Pianis was the first secondary PC introduced who is an older sibling of a main PC, and was the only one until Lyuri arrived.
• Pianis is cast as a villain in the J-Team TV Show, specifically an admin of Team Glacier. In reality, he is the team's human relations admin, but mainly because he's the only human member.
• He may or may not be addicted to Champions of Strength and Sorcery.
• Pianis and Nico have extremely similar hairstyles. They swapped outfits for Halloween 2013 and were very effectively disguised as each other during that time.
