Name Basis

Shiva is named after a summon in Final Fantasy, which is in turn named after the Hindu god of destruction.

Personality

Shiva is unfailingly polite and formal, and will always greet a new mon with a bow. She shows respect to everyone, including her opponents in battle.

Abilities in Battle

Shiva is one of Pianis' fastest Pokémon, and like the rest of his team, is a strong special attacker as well. She has a wide variety of attacks when compared to some of Pianis' other mons. She can use Snow Cloak to escape from attackers or attack from unexpected angles in a hailstorm, and those tend to be common with Pianis' team.

History

Pianis came to Sinnoh to seek out a Pokémon that could cause snowstorms wherever it went. While he did find this Pokémon in Icecap, he also caught Shiva along that same route. After considering the different evolution options for her, he went with Froslass instead of Glalie to reduce his team's vulnerability to Fighting types.

Relationships

Shiva and Icecap are friendly toward each other, as both value being kind to others.

In the AU

Shiva is one of two mons from Pianis' team to survive the Distortion, the other being Crystallux. Both were found by Mezzo after the Distortion was cleared.
