- Cuddles was named in part due to his love of hugs, but also because Goldenheart388 wanted Cuddles to have "a warm and fuzzy-sounding name" to match with his kindhearted personality, and decided that calling him "Cuddles" would elicit warm and fuzzy feelings and make people think of snuggly things. Her ultimate goal was to have even arachnophobes be less afraid of Cuddles despite him being a Galvantula due to his sweet nature.
- According to Goldenheart388, Cuddles' Hasslemon handle is floofSpooder (FS), which is both how she refers to Galvantula and how Cuddles refers to all other members of his species.
- According to Goldenheart388, Cuddles' regular character theme is "As Long As We Got Each Other" by BJ Thomas and Dusty Springfield (AKA the theme song of the '80's sitcom Growing Pains), his Broadway character theme is "Tomorrow is a Latter Day" from The Book of Mormon (excluding the reprise of "Hello!" in the middle of the song), and his headcanon voice is Lucas Slice as Lucas the Spider from the series of YouTube videos.
