Cuddles is Leonard Braker's Galvantula, and the second Pokemon he acquired on his journey.

Personality

Cuddles is a very sweet, friendly, and cheerful Pokemon who is always willing and ready to help and befriend others. As his name implies, Cuddles' favorite thing to do is to give out free hugs to anybody he meets, whether they be friend, foe, or stranger. Thus far, he has done this multiple times, most notably with Star, Kimberly Bond, and Ian- all three of whom have greatly appreciated the hugs. Cuddles also enjoys giving out cookies to anybody he meets, which they also usually enjoy. Of course, regarding both hugs and cookies, Cuddles always makes sure to ask the person in question first. Cuddles is also willing to comfort somebody whenever they need it- usually with a warm and fuzzy hug. This was most effectively shown when he comforted Lithium upon seeing his old Trainer abandon him and also upon seeing him cry-- the hug promptly caused Lithium to ask whether or not Galvantulas had always been that soft. When he's not busy hugging or handing out free food to people and Pokemon, however, Cuddles is a very fun-loving and excitable soul. He has a love of music and enjoys singing to himself, and whenever the chance to do karaoke arrives- as seen during the Hammerlocke banquet- Cuddles will immediately jump at the chance to sing. He is also very supportive of other people and Pokemon's accomplishments, and cheers them on during battles, karaoke sessions, or the like. This especially applies to other members of his species, which he will refer to as "floof frens"- as he did with 9-Volt when he, Walter and Braker watched Colton's Gym Battle. He also notably cheered with delight during both of the karaoke performances, and also was perhaps the most ardent supporter of Lithium (then going by his number of #73) upon seeing him in the Vikavolt Stunt Show in Heahea. Despite this, however, Cuddles is easily the least patient of the three (between him, Braker, and Walter), and will sometimes have to be reminded to keep his excitement down or to wait for things, especially by Walter. In battle, Cuddles is just as adorable as when he is out of battle. He views battling as a fun time for everyone involved, and enjoys playing with his Electro Ball as though it is an actual ball. Cuddles enjoys giving hugs to his opponents whenever he is sent out onto the battlefield, as he did with Joel-- and tried to do with Strummer. He also thinks that his Giga Drain attack is a hug, and as such sometimes is unaware of his own strength. Usually, if he faints an opponent, he will profusely apologize, as he did with Joel. After being defeated, it's usually customary for Cuddles to give out a cookie to his opponents, as he did when Strummer defeated him. While this does allow some opponents' guards to be let down a bit, most of the opponents enjoy battling Cuddles due to how sweet he is. Cuddles' speech contains a large amount of tildes (~), especially before an exclamation or question mark and especially during moments when he gets particularly excited. In Hasslemon, every sentence ends with a tilde, and ends with two if he's particularly excited.

Like Walter, Cuddles is often seen travelling outside of his PokeBall. His favorite Gamecube game is Sketch Pad.

Trivia

• Cuddles was named in part due to his love of hugs, but also because Goldenheart388 wanted Cuddles to have "a warm and fuzzy-sounding name" to match with his kindhearted personality, and decided that calling him "Cuddles" would elicit warm and fuzzy feelings and make people think of snuggly things. Her ultimate goal was to have even arachnophobes be less afraid of Cuddles despite him being a Galvantula due to his sweet nature.
• According to Goldenheart388, Cuddles' Hasslemon handle is floofSpooder (FS), which is both how she refers to Galvantula and how Cuddles refers to all other members of his species. Originally, it was going to be freeSnuggles, which has the same abbreviation.
• According to Goldenheart388, Cuddles' regular character theme is "Chiquitita" by ABBA, his Broadway character theme is the version of that same song from "Mamma Mia" (albeit with the original lyrics), making him the second character that Goldenheart388 has written for after Joel to have this distinction, and his headcanon voice is Tia Ballard as Happy from Fairy Tail.
