Grant (Arcanine)

Grant is Sakura's Arcanine and her starter, thus being with her for far more time than any other member of the team.

Appearance

His appearance is that of a regular Arcanine, if a bit bigger, his fur is really smooth, probably because Sakura gives him lots of poffins.

Personality

Grant is friendly and pretty calm, he's also very protective of Sakura and harming her is one of the few things that would get him really mad, he's quite relaxed and loves to sleep in the grass and he tends to have to take care of the entire team. In battle he gets way more serious and pays attention to every single word that Sakura's says, following her orders without complaining.

Battle Strategy

Grant likes to go on a full physical offensive, but he can make good use of long range attacks too, if he just to cover a bigger area of effect, neverthless he does anything Sakura says him to. He also can take a lot of punishment before giving up.

History

Grant was given to Sakura as an egg when she was five and since then he was her loyal partner, and the subject of the sister's first big fight. After the accident that separated the sisters and killed their's parents, he always stood by Sakura's side and comforted her, always protecting her before and after Hikari found them.

Relationships

Grant is fiercily loyal to Sakura

Grant is good friends with everybody on the team, even Shade, he frequently helps Dusty with his low-self steem and is always there to comfort him. He never takes part on Lily and Stella's plots, and often scolds them for that, together with Serenity.

He gets along pretty well with Seth, and likes to play with Dylan, and babysits him when Sakura isn't around. He also got a small fan in Sparkers much to his surprise and the two got along almost immediatelly, Sparkers admiration for him made him quite proud of himself.

Most of Sakura's friends are also Grant's, but he likes Hikari in special and silently ships Sakura and Rawst

Trivia

• Contrary to what one would think of a Fire type, he likes to take a bath.
• He didn't lose a single battle at the moment, the only battles Sakura lost didn't have him involved in it.
• Until now he was involved in all of Sakura's Gym Battles.
