Bartleby is a Mew who has a side-job as a romance writer in addition to his Mew duties. However, he can be rather snooty, and has a disdain for most other members of his species (Starkeeper being one of the exceptions) due to their irresponsible ways. However, he has a noticable soft spot for love in all its forms, beyond merely the romantic love he usually writes about.
